"Haley, wake up." Jason said in his gentle voice as he shook my shoulder. "Alfred made breakfast."
"Breakfast!" I said as I quickly sat up. "I'm up."
"Okay let's go then." He said laughing at my reaction.
I got up and we walked to the kitchen hand in hand. I could smell the food while walking to the kitchen. It smelled like bacon and pancakes, or waffles.
"Good morning Miss Haley and master Jason." Alfred said as we walked into the kitchen.
"Alfred, how many times do I have to tell you not to call me master?" Jason asked.
"I'm sorry sir." Alfred replied. "I'm just used to saying it."
"It's okay." Jason said. "Just don't say it again please."
"What's for breakfast?" I asked Alfred.
"Bacon and waffles, your favorite." He said as he smiled at me.
"Yay! Thank you so much!" I said as let go of Jason's hand to give Alfred a hug.
"You're welcome." He replied while I was giving him a bear hug.
"It's 7:00 a.m. you two. Calm down your hurting my head." My dad said as he walked in to the kitchen. "I heard you from up stairs."
"Sorry." I replied. "I was just excited."
"It's fine, just stop shouting." He said as he yawned.
"Okay, can we eat now?" I asked.
"Of course, I already have the table set." Alfred replied.
"Ya-" I started to shout.
"Haley." My Dad said with an angry tone in his voice.
"Sorry." I said quietly.
We all walked to the table in silence. I sat next to Alfred on one side of the table. My Dad and Jason sat on the other side across from us. I grabbed one waffle and three pieces of bacon and put them on my plate.
"Would anyone like some tea?" Alfred asked.
"Yes, please." I replied.
Alfred walked got up and walked back into the kitchen. He came back in with two cups of tea. One cup for him and one for me. After that no one said anything. There wasn't a reason to talk. No one wanted to talk because we all knew it would end with either tears or yelling. I devoured my waffle and my three pieces of bacon. I sat at the table a little bit longer to finish my tea after eating my food. Afterwards I put my dirty dishes in the sink and went to my room. I didn't want to walk back out to the awkward silence in the dining room. I knew when I walked out they would start talking about me. About how bad they feel. I opened my phone and opened up my text messages. I started scrolling through the text messages between Hanna and I. I shouldn't have, but I couldn't help myself. I tried not to cry, but I couldn't. I set my phone back in my pocket and wiped the tears from my cheeks.
"Haley." I heard someone standing on the other side of my door. "Can I come in."
"Not now." I said. "I don't wanna talk about right now."
"Haley, we need to talk about it just let my in." Said the person on the other side of the door. Now I could tell it was my Dad.
I sat up and looked into the mirror to see if you could tell if I was crying. I didn't want my Dad to know I was crying.
"Give me a second." I replied hoping I had enough time before he came in to get myself back together.
"Okay I'll be back in a second aka 5 minutes." He said before he walked away.
I wiped my eyes again and I tried to calm myself down. I grabbed my phone and opened up YouTube. I started watching Mathias videos to cheer me up. By the time my Dad came back I looked fine again. He didn't say anything before coming in he just walked in.
"I know it's been a rough couple of weeks and I haven't been around much." He said as he sat down on my bed. "I'm sorry. I know what it's like to lose people close to you. I'm willing to talk about this and help you though it if you are."
"Thanks, I really don't want to talk about it. Talking about it isn't going to resolve anything." I replied. "Unless you can just brain wash me I don't know how to handle my emotions."
"I felt the same way when my parents were killed." He said. "I didn't know what to do, but I wanted the death of innocent people to stop. That's what got me here."
"I didn't want this life though. I just want to be a normal awkward girl who spends to much time on the internet." I replied angrily.
"None of us asked to be here in this situation." He replied calmly.
"You should've just left me." I replied getting more angry. "You never should've brought me here.""I had to bring you here." He said
"You didn't want me here though. That's the truth and you know it." I replied.
"I saved you!" He yelled. "You should thank me!"
"I didn't need to be saved! You just didn't want another villain running around!" I yelled back. "You never wanted to be in my life! Not until I could start causing problems!"
"I care unlike your Mom! She was gonna use you to do her dirty work!" He yelled again.
"It's kinda hard to believe that since you didn't come get me until a few weeks ago." I replied returning to my normal voice.
"Sometimes you just need to trust people, even if you think they're lying." He replied also calming down. "You trusted your Mom, but she lied to you about everything."
"You're right... I'm sorry." I answered as I started to tear up. "I'm just... I don't know what's wrong with me."
"I can help you. I know I wasn't there before, but I'm here now. Let me help you." He said as he placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Okay, I think I'm ready." I replied.
