I woke up the next morning to the sounds of the city outside. I had gotten even better sleep than I had on the plane. When I woke up I checked my phone as I usually do. I had no notifications. I was expecting maybe a text from Jason, but I guess he didn't care. Just like everyone else, he didn't care. Oh well, I don't need him.
I called the number on the breakfast menu and order breakfast. I ordered waffles, 3 pieces of bacon, and a cup of hot tea. They came up to my room with my food and I devoured it. It tasted amazing.
After I ate breakfast I actually felt energized. So I got dressed to go on a walk.
I asked the lady at the desk what her favorite place in the city was. She told me the Palmengarten was a great place to go. So I grabbed a map and headed toward the Palmengarten. The streets were pretty packed with people. It was very different compared to Gotham. Most of the time when you came across people on the street they'd jump you. The Palmengarten was about a mile and a half away from the hotel. After awhile I pulled my earbuds out and stared listening to some Green day. It wasn't too long before I got to the Palmengarten. When I first layed eyes on the Palmengarten I was amazed. It was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.It was a huge botanical garden. I was just walking and staring at the plants, when I suddenly ran into a guy. He was wearing black rimmed glasses over his green eyes and he had curly read hair.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry." I said.
"It's fine." He said smiling. "Let me guess you just saw the Palmengarten for the first time and you're in awe."
"You'd be correct." I replied.
"I don't blame you it's a beautiful sight, in fact I was just headed there to." He said with his German accent. "I'll show you around if you want me too. By the way my name is Charlie."
"I'm Haley and that sounds great." I answered. "I just got here yesterday."
"You came here alone?" He asked as he stared walking through the gardens and I followed him.
"Yeah, I just came to get away." I replied.
"Well, you picked the right city." He said. "I've been living here all my life and I love this place."
"That's good to know." I replied.
We continued walking and I'd point out plants and he'd tell me what it was. It was really nice. I actually felt good. I hadn't felt like that in a really long time. We walked through the whole entire garden. It was 1:00 pm by the time we got done at the Palmengarten.
"Hey you wanna get some lunch?" Charlie asked me. "There's some pretty good restaurants around here."
"Sure." I replied.
"I have the perfect place for us to go." He said.
Charlie called a taxi and we got into it. Charlie told the driver to take us to some place called restraunt Klosterhof and the taxi driver drove us there. We were in the car for about 30 minutes before we arrived at our destination.
"Thanks for the ride." Charlie said to the taxi as he handed him some money.
"This is restraunt Klosterhof." Charlie said. "also known as one of the best restraunts in Frankfurt."
"Well I'm starving so anything will do." I replied.
"Let's go in then." Charlie said.
I followed him into the restaurant and he did all the talking. We sat down and looked at the menu. I didn't know what any of the things on the menu were. They were all German dishes I've never had before.
"I suggest you get the originale Frankfurter Grüne Soße." Charlie said. "It's really good."
"Sounds good to me." I replied.
When the waitress took our order Charlie ordered for us. A few minutes afterwards our food came it smelled and looked good. I devoured my food I was starving and it tasted amazing.
"How was your food?" Charlie asked.
"Amazing." I answered.
"I knew you'd like it." He said smiling.
"So, I thought maybe I could give you my number and you can text or call me if you want anymore touring around Frankfurt." Charlie said.
"Sounds good." I said as I handed him my phone.
He typed in his number and handed it back to me.
"I had a lot of fun today." Charlie said smiling.
"Me too." I replied smiling back.
