Chapter 10

The downhill...

The music is loud, the base is real, the moment is right...
We dance till we can't, we drink till we black out and we cuss each other all the time but who cares ? We having the time of our lives...
It's my uncles 60th birthday and we will remember this night for the rest of our lives.
Our clothes are shaking because of the base, our feet are sore from from dancing, but our hearts are lit with the fire the music provides and it fuels us...
Me and Estelar are dancing and I'm showing her off, she's my queen and I'm going to make sure every woman and ass hole of men out there who think they stand a chance with her that she's with me and if they want her they will go through me, we were congratulated the whole night and I was asked how I did it and I replied...
"What do you mean ?"
"We mean, how the FUCK did you get an angel to stay on earth for you ?!?"
"Well... The trick is you have to treat them as if they leaving you tomorrow then they will be by you forever."
"Damn someone actually figured out to get to a woman's heart..."
"Indeed I did..."

The family is here, my dad, Mathew and Emily, my cousins, my uncles and aunts, my nephews, my distant family, EVERYONE !
We all having a great time, and everything is perfect, until I got a call on the foreigners phone...
I quickly leave and answer...
"Yes ?"
"We need you to finish the machine and you need to work the weekend."
"Now ?"
"Yes."
"Can't I come in tomorrow and I'll finish it quicker ?"
"We thought you might say that..."
A man from behind lays a white cloth on my mouth and I begin to struggle taking his arm and twisting my body so I slam his body on the ground not realizing he has a gun and as his body hits the ground a shot is fired and everyone comes running outside to see what has happened.
"What's going on Ryder ?"
Estelar asks with fear in her face...
I can't lie to her.
"Estelar... we need to talk..."

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU BUILDING A MACHINE FOR THE FOREIGNERS ?!?"
"Listen it's complicated..."
"Then make it less complicated !"
" I was forced to.."
"HOW ?!"
"Or else they would hurt you..."
"But you still decide to marry me ?!"
"Because I love you..."

She shakes her head and sits next to me resting her face in her hands, I gently and slowly try to hold her one hand and she begins to cry and collapses into my shoulder, all I can do is hold her tight and never let go and say everything is going to be all right...
"What are you going to do ?"
"I'm going to finish the machine..."
"And the man you took down at the church ?"
"His being dry loose as a security officer who was mistaken as a criminal because he was leaving and I was too drunk to see he was asking for a handshake instead of him trying to drug me..."
"Okay but what about.."
"About nothing ! I'm marrying you and I'm going to protect you !"
"Can we first finish our studies ?"
"Yeah of course..."

I forgot we were both in our last month of studies and where finally be able to pass of as licensed artist and mechanic. Just hope I'll be able to finish the machine and get this over and done with ...

We are back in the warehouse before I asked Estelar to marry me, I'm just finishing the tweaks for the night and I'll be go until the next call, hope it won't be for a LLOOONNGGG time because I need a break...

"You do good."
"Thanks..."

The foreigner shakes my hand and shows me the way out and I grab my jacket and leave, whiling the oil off my hands...
Can't wait to get back to my dorm and relax, And cuddle up with Estelar !
There's no threat between me and the short man until I asked...
"What do you plan on using this for ?"
"You smart man ! Think !"
"War ?"
"No."
"Money ?"
"YES !"
"Why ?"
" you ask too many questions so please leave !"

I leave the warehouse and get on my bicycle and start to ride to the campus.

BACK TO THE PRESENT

"No sir I was under the influence of alcohol tht I did not realize this man is just a normal security officer."
"Are you sure ?"
"Very."
"Do you swear that's the truth and nothing but the truth ?"
"I swear."
"Raise your right hand and repeat after me."
I rest my left hand on the Bible and raise my right hand.
"I, fill your name."
" I Ryder Jones."
"Swear that what I have stated in today court is the only truth."

"You are dismissed..."
"Thank you, your honor."

I leave the court room and receive another call.
I flip my phone and answer...
"Yes ?"
"Good work today Ryder."
"I am almost done..."
"Good."
"Want me today ?"
"No you can rest for now..

I hang up and slip the phone in my pocket and start walking to campus, thinking of my bed and Estelar.
I get there and I unlock my dorm room and when I walk in the place is a mess !
I start looking for Estelar and my heart drops when I can't find her, I need to find her before I do anything else.
I search the room but I realize there's a small camera aiming at the door, but as I start to search more thoroughly I find more cameras...
Sick Bastards !
Watching us, our every move !
I remove the cameras and I realize my cupboards are broken down and my clothes are on the floor.
I remove the phones out my pocket and put them on the counter, but as I place the foreigner phone down it begins to ring...

I answer

"You looking for something ?"
