Chapter 24

Your past will always haunt you

I drive down the local highway, just a 20 minute drive from my apartment. We planned to meet there on this day because it was where we all first met. We met at the front the front of the building.
Ace and Theo were long time friends, Theo dropped his books and sheets of papers were flying, lucky enough Tristan gave me a lift to the university and that was the beginning of our "brother" family.

"Ace help me with these

"Mate, do you want our help as well ?"

"Sorry, but who are you ?"

"Mate, my names Tristan and my friend here is Ryder..."

"Ryder Welson, how may I help you ?"

I stuck my hand out for him and we shook each other's hands firmly, he had a strong grib. I pulled some of his papers out my book and handed it to him. He sorted the papers out and put them into the order he had them in.

"Theo, you need to sought your stuff out."

"My stuff is neat and tidy !"

"Sure it is..."

"Sorry sir but I think you dropped this."

"Yes ! Thank you so much."

"I'm David by the way..."

David handed Theo his sheets and they shook hands. We all introduced each other, we decided to meet at the first interval so we could get to know each other more, and so ...

And that's how we all became a family.

BACK TO THE PRESENT

As I get out of my car, Tristan starts park his next to me. Our hands clamping on impact when we greeted each other and we pulled each other into a hub.
We haven't seen each other for a long time, so you could say it felt as if we were seeing a brother again.

We waited at the front of the university. I was sitting by the wall while Tristan was on the phone to his wife, he was telling her to breathe, so I guess she's pregnant?
As he hanged up I asked if she was pregnant.

"Yes actually, 7 months. We're having a boy and plan on naming him Alec."

"Why Alec ?"

"Because it's the name of my father. Idecided to name my little boy after him because I want him to be a great dad, just like mine was."

"Awww Tristan."

Ace and Theo started to walk up from behind Tristan.
Theo came running, he hugged each and everyone of us, while Ace held back and just shook his before comjng to hug us.
He was always the patient one.
We each greeted each other and said it was amazing to see one another.
