When the three of them got home, Mitch started to cook diner, allowing Scott time with his daughter. "Are you my daddy's husband?" Scarlet asked innocently, getting a smile from Scott. "Yes, I am. I'm Scott." He said softly as Mitch walked out.
"Scarlet, Scott is your papa also. He just had to go away for a while." Mitch smiled. "Why did you leave?" Scarlet asked innocently. "I didn't really have a choice. But I promise you that I'll never leave again. I'm here to stay, watch you grow up." Scott assured. Scarlet loked at him sadly, "Why couldn't you watch me grow up when I was younger?" She asked. "Scarlet." Mitch reprimanded. "No, Mitch. It's okay." Scott assured. "Why did you leave me and daddy alone?" Scarlet asked with tears in her eyes. Scott sighed, "I know I hurt you, but I never ment it like that. I'm-" he began, stopping when Scarlet got up and ran to her room.
"I'm sorry, Scott. None of this was your fault, she'll understand some day." Mitch assured. Scott nodded sadly, "I'm just- gonna go to bed." He mumbled before slowly standing, limping towards his bedroom.
It's great to be home.
