After Mitch left for work, Scott sat on the couch with Scarlet as she watched Spongebob. "Will you let me?" Scott asked as he looked at her, gaining her attention. "Would you let me get to know you?" He asked kindly. Scarlet sighed and looked down, "You'll just leave again." She mumbled sadly.
Scott scooted close to her and wrapped her in a hug, "And if I do, I'll come back. I will always be here with you." He promised. Scarlet looked up at him with tear-filled blue eyes, "That's what daddy told me." She smiled. "And it's true. I will always find a way to be with you, because I love you both so much." Scott smiled. Scarlet sighed, "Do you want to play with me?" She asked softly. "Sure. Anything you want." Scott smiled before he started following her to her perfectly pink bedroom.
The two spent the day playing dress up, having tea parties, and laughing. Mitch walked into the apartment quietly before going to Scarlet's bedroom to see Scott tucking her in. "Better?" He asked softly. Scarlet nodded and hugged the blanket, "Can we do that again tomorrow?" She asked tiredly. "Yes we can. I'll see you in the morning." Scott whispered before gently kissing her forehead. "Goodnight, p-" Scarlet began before stopping herself. Scott smiled, "Goodnight, princess." He whispered before turning her lamp off and standing up right.
Scott quietly shut Scarlet's bedroom door behind her before facing Mitch, who was smirking widely. "What?" He asked with a smile. "She almost called you papa." Mitch smiled, making Scott smiled as he hugged his husband. "She's such a sweet little girl. You raised her right, Mitch." Scott complemented before they walked hand-in-hand to their bedroom. "And we will finish raising her properly." Mitch smiled before slapping Scott's butt and walking into their bedroom. Scott blushed slightly, but smiled before following Mitch inside and shutting the door behind him.
Everything is turning out fine.
