Kurt had been sleeping really well in his new bed up until yesterday nap time, where he told me that there were 'on'ters under der 'ed', which would result in me 'scaring' them away or if I was really tired, just putting him in bed with me because it's way too early for me to be dealing with all that. I don't even know where he got the thought of monsters under his bed, like I can't remember seeing him watch anything or me reading anything to do with monsters and he hasn't told me about any nightmares that he might have had. So I don't really know what is the reason behind all of this.
"Daddy?" He asks me as I sit on the sofa.
"Yeah baby?"
"Out'ide?" He asks as he points to the garden, he's been asking me this all morning and it's still the same answer.
"Not at the minute sweetie, if the weather perks up a bit, perhaps you can" I tell him for what felt like the millionth time that day.
"Ohhh" he whines as he hunches his shoulders.
"Cheer up baby" I soothe him.
"Perhaps we can play some games inside and then go out in a little while" I tell him.
"Wike dat out'ide" he points to the garden.
"Like going to the shops" I tell him, I say this to him so I could go out and buy a spray bottle, fill it up with water and print of a monsters label. I'll do the printing when he's down for a nap though.
"Tay" he says.
"Well, what would Kurt like to play?" I ask him.
"Tatch"
"Catch?" I ask.
"Uh huh"
"Alright, go grab one of your plastic footballs" I tell him, he runs over to his toys and grabs one of his many footballs. We start to play catch, which might actually help him with his hand - eye coordination.
"And catch" I call out to him as I throw the ball.
"Yay daddy" he cheers when he catches it.
"Good job baby" I praise him. We carry this in for quite a while until Kurt speaks up.
"Arm 'ired daddy" he whines.
"Alright, we'll rest our arms for a bit then, ok" I tell him.
"Tay" he says.
"What do you want to watch?" I ask him. 'Stupid question really' I thought.
"Aw 'atrol" he cheers.
"Alright, you want some juice?" I ask him.
"Pwease" he says, I get up, go to the kitchen and make Kurt a juice in his sippy cup.
