(3rd Person POV)
To her surprise, Camila was granted the option of coming home early, but she must stay under the rules of no contact with Julie or anyone tied to her family, and Camila happily agreed. But, the four months that Camila was in New Jersey had changed her.
-September-
Camila hadn't adjusted to her temporary home and luxeries, but she was trying as hard as she could to cope. Every morning, Camila and Finn would wake up and Facetime and get ready together for schooling, though she was home schooled and he still, of course, attending McKinley. Mr. Schuester decided to bring Brooklynn into Camila's position and worked hard to work around her absence since she was the female lead. Finn was hurting everyday, and his peers tried to get his mind off her absense, but nothing worked. But, every day, the Glee Club made it a point to set up a Skype call on Mr. Schuester's laptop and sat it in her seat so she wouldn't miss a day of class, even letting her watch their rehearsals and give her opinions on it.
Camila didn't like the feeling of being isolated, but her parents wanted to keep her away from the media because they swarmed them with questions about her. Her dad was able to set up to where she sang the national anthem once at one of the baseball games, but that was the only attention she got from the media. Her parents even threw her a welcoming party with hundreds of people Camila didn't know. Her dress was worth thousands of dollars and left her upset because they made her wear a corset, saying her body would "stretch the expensive fabric out".
-October-
On her eighteen birthday, her parents went all out and threw a ball in her honor, letting Camila be glammed and beautiful again, but continuing with the corset to maybe tone her body more. They threw it the day before because they'd be busy on her actual birthday which her her feelings a lot. Her cake was marvelous and she was showered with hundreds of gifts from new expensive clothing to the newest electronics and anything she desired. She saved a cupcake from her party and at around three in the morning, Camila grabbed a candle and Facetimed Finn and Carol, who also had bought a cupcake. They all lit the candles and sang happy birthday to her, then blowing it out and enjoying a long talk and tasty treat.
At this point, Carol and Finn began to clean out their storage room. Finn saved up money from the car shop's paychecks to pay off a storage slot in town for their stuff. He spent countless hours hauling loads back and forth and unloading and reloading things. On Halloween, Amelia stepped in and threw the annual Glee Club Halloween Party. They Facetimed Camila off her phone and everyone would pass it around and basically party with her for a bit so she wouldn't stay left out.
-November-
Camila started to realize that the life her parents wanted for her wasn't what she wanted. They began to argue day by day, saying how she can't just go off and sing doo-wop songs for a living or throw her body in some motions and call it dance, that she needed to be a business woman and live up professionally to the family name. Theyd scold her on her weight and ended up hiring her a personal trainer to scold and push her even more. They slowly started taking away gifted things that were given to her, but she didn't care. There would be nights that she'd cry and scream into her pillows because she had nobody there for her without them not being physically there. She had distanced herself from dance and wanted to forget everything about it since it revealed around her old life's lie. It made her become lost and blank with emotion, not knowing how she'd pick her life back up once she left New Jersey. She hadn't sang in three months either, which wasn't normal for her.
Finn and Carol started pitching in together to buy Camila furniture for her new room, even painting it a light pink for her comfort. Carol took the time to print out pictures of her, Finn, and Camila together and hang them up on the walls to make her feel homely. While this happened, the Glee Club headed to Sectionals and kicked ass, Camila watching from a livestream at home and crying seeing them grab that first place trophy. Finn though had to practice independence because girls were starting to lean on him and expect him to drop Camila since she had been gone for so long. But he knew better and never got any urges. All he'd simply do is pull out a picture of Camila and brag about how beautiful and lucky she was until they'd walk away.
-December-
Camila was dull and dark by this point. She barely spoke a word to anyone and had to figure her needs for herself. Her parents turned out to be disrespectful and wrapped up in their lavished lives, but acted fake in the media. She didn't enjoy the devine cuisines she was given as meals every day anymore, or the jewelry from her mother's newest collections she got for free. She'd sit at home in her room to herself and talk to Finn, do her school work, and busy herself with anything she could since she had over a month left before she could leave back home. Her parents didn't even bother asking her if she wanted anything for Christmas, and she didn't bother to ask them either. It got to a point they basically forgot about her and left her to herself, canceling any payment she was getting from them or insurance. Camila was pretty much snapped in half, not given a chance to recover from the big news that hit her life in August. It was rushed and so here sits Camila, alone and blank.
That is until a phone call happened on her.
The people who investigated her case decided that Camila had enough time from being seperated from Julie to the point they've both forgotten and moved on about each other. Camila's grades were excellent in home school, and she followed every single rule given to her. So, with granted full adult responsibility to herself, she could leave as she wished since her somewhat of a sentence was over.
December 23rd
"Mr. Schuester this is suspicious... why did you call us back to school two days before Christmas?" Quinn took her winter hat off her head and followed him to the choir room with everyone else. "I was informed a package came in for us that we all needed to take care of. I believe it's the trophy for Sectionals." He led all the Glee kids to the choir room. "Wait, what about Finn?" Puck looked around at everyone, who had all noticed his absense. "His mom said he couldn't make it for personal reasons." Mr. Schuester flicked the lights on and shrugged.
In the middle on the room sat a large box with red and green wrapping paper and a huge red bow on top. "Aww, the committee was cute to wrap it for us." Tina giggled as everyone filed in a large circle around the box. "Who would like to do the honors of unveiling your well deserved trophy?" Mr. Schuester exclaimed excitedly. "I think we all should. Just everyone held take the tape off and then we'll all open the lid together." Angie suggested. All the kids got to work with cutting the tape open until finally it was time to open the lid. "Ready? One, two, three!"
(Camila's POV)
When the lid came off all the way, I soared up to my feet and popped out of the box. I looked at everyone and felt my blood rush all around, a feeling I hadn't felt in months, and they all began to scream. I was tackled in embraces and everyone and crying and yelling. I let myself cry and hug everyone individually. "How are you back so- how are you her- holy shit!" Mr. Schuester exclaimed and everyone busted out laughing from him cussing. "Does Finn know?" Rachel asked wiping her eyes. "I'm surprising him on Christmas, so thank you for not tearing the wrapping paper because I'm gonna need to reuse it." I looked at the mess behind me.
Everyone kept hugging me and we ended up spending hours in the choir room talking and weeping. I had felt the happiest I'd ever been and it was the first time I had talked in a couple of weeks because I eneded up just silencing myself. The monstrous love and support I was getting made me feel so loved and welcomed home, and I knew I'll be needing all of it adjusting to coming back home and starting the actual recovery of what's been going on in my life. When I found out I was coming home early, me and Carol planned (in the two weeks my parents gave me to leave before they threw everything of mine to the street) what we'd do. I'd stay in her room on Christmas eve all day to rest from the flight and such, then on Christmas we will surprise Finn. I told Finn that my parents we forcing me to go to festivities those days, so I'd celebrate with him on the twenty sixth, so he has no clue.
But when I see him, I know he'll tie it all together and start bringing me back to life.
