Today should be our last meeting and we should sign the adoption papers and custody papers today.
Me and Bradley arrive at the adoption center and go in. Mary brought us into the back room and Auggie, Ocean, Mr. Williams and Jane were there. The 3 of us sat down and began our last meeting.
"Well welcome to your last meeting" Mr. Williams says.
"Thank you" Bradley says.
"So here's how today if going to work. It's probably going to be about a hour. You have to sign 4 pieces of paper. One is the adoption papers for Auggie then there is another one for Ocean. Then there is a custody paper for Auggie and another one for Ocean" Mary says.
"Ok" I say.
"So before you sign them we just a question for each of you" Mary says.
"First, Auggie are you 100% sure you want Bradley and Sabrina to adopt you" Mr. Williams asks.
"I have never been so sure of something in my life" Auggie says. My smile grew and about 2 more puzzle pieces went together.
"Ok. Now Ocean are you 100% sure you want Sabrina and Bradley to adopt you?" Mr. Williams asks.
"Yes" Ocean says and nods his head. My smile grew even bigger and more puzzles pieces went together.
"Next, Sabrina are you 100% sure you want to adopt Auggie and Ocean?" Mary asks.
"Definitely" I say.
"Bradley are you 100% sure you want to adopt Auggie and Ocean" Mary asks.
"I'm 100% sure" He says.
"Perfect here are the adoption papers" Mr. Williams says and hands Ocean's to me and Auggie's to Bradley.
I read it over and signed where it said 'Mothers name'
Then I passed it to Bradley and he gave me Auggie's. I signed my name again and we handed them back to Mr. Williams.
"Here is the custody papers" Mr. Williams says and hands Auggie's to me and Ocean's to Bradley.
I sign my name and then sign my name again on Ocean's.
"Ok. This is the last thing. It's a little certificate that says 'I Got Adopted Today!' Ocean gets one and Auggie gets one." Mary says.
Auggie writes his name on the line of his and Ocean writes a little scribble where his name should be. Me and Bradley sign on the two smaller lines that are under the ones that Auggie and Ocean wrote there names.
"That is all we needed for today. Now you can come and pick them up to go home with you and two weeks" Mr. Williams says.
"How come we can't go home with them now" Ocean asks in a whiny voice.
"We have to get these papers finalized and you two need to pack all your stuff up to go back to there house" Mary says.
"Ok" Ocean says but he wasn't too happy about it.
We left the room and me, Bradley, Auggie and Ocean took a picture in the lobby of all four of us and the Auggie and Ocean were holding there certificates. Our first family photo. And Auggie and Ocean took one without us
We all say goodbye and me and Bradley go outside get in the car and leave.
"Are you ready?" Bradley asks me.
"I am so ready but now we need to buy everything we need for two kids" I say.
"Don't worry. We can start tomorrow" Bradley says.
