Chapter 33

It's been one strange day. It's been about a week since we moved into the house and a week until the wedding.

I get a text from my mom this morning. Here's what happened.

Mom: Hey. Just a random question but is Auggie, Ocean and Chloe's mom's name Maha?
Me: Yeah. Why?
Mom: I'm calling you
Me: Ok.

About thirty seconds later my mom calls me.

"Hi mom" I say.

"Hi . Your gonna think I'm crazy but I have to tell you something" She says.

"I already think your crazy" I say.

"Ok. Well there's no easy way to say this but I'm second cousins to Maha" She says.

"What is second cousins?" I ask.

"Your grandma is her dad's sister. She is my cousin's daughter" She says.

"Are you serious?" I ask.

"Yeah. That makes you, Auggie, Ocean and Chloe semi related. Ever wondered why you and Chloe looks a little bit alike?" She asks.

"We both have blonde hair and blue eyes. That doesn't mean we look alike" I say.

"You to both got the recessive gene in your family. Me, your dad, Sarah and Shannon all have brown hair and blue eyes. Your the only one with blonde hair. Ocean is like the perfect mix between Auggie and Chloe. He got Auggie's curly hair and is close to having Chloe's hair color. His is a little darker." She says.

"This is crazy" I say.

"Come over now. I have something I want to show you. And bring the kids" She says then hangs up.

"We're going to grandma's house" I yell through the house. It's really big and I don't know where anyone is.

"Yay!" Auggie and Ocean yell running down the stairs. Chloe was following behind them not saying anything. They were all dressed and ready to go. Bradley comes down a minute later and we leave.

"Why are we going to your moms house?" Bradley asks.

"You'll see when you get there" I say.

We get there about ten minutes later. My mom, dad and Sarah were there.

"Hi guys" I say.

"Hey" They say back not paying attention to us. They were sitting around a photo box.

"Come sit" My mom says.

We go a sit with them. Ocean sat on my lap.

"What's this?" I ask.

"I have to tell you guys something really important" My mom says to the kids and Bradley.

"Ok" They four of them say.

"So I just learned that your mommy is my distant cousin" She says.

"What's a cousin?" Ocean asks.

"Your mommy or daddy's siblings, kids. So like when Sarah has kids they would be your cousins" My mom says

Sarah gives my mom a weird look. She always says she is never having kids.

"So your mommy and me have the same great grandparents. Which would mean all of us here are kinda related except you Bradley" My mom says.

"Related through marriage, almost" Bradley says.

"Just one more week" Sarah says.

"I know" Bradley says.

"So she's like my cousin" Ocean says and points to me.
