thanks for reading! just a quick author's note as this story continues to gain traction...
this story is considered lolita-esque, but is NOT at all romanticizing or condoning the actions within this book.
this story is about an unprofessional, inappropriate and extremely wrong relationship/love story between a 13-14 year old girl and her teacher.
with that being said, it is much like a novel "My Dark Vanessa" if any of have you have read/heard of that book, this is very much in the same vein. not condoning or romanticizing the love, but very much just giving perspective to it and how complicated love can be.
just to reiterate, he is grooming her, he is a pedophile. there will be repercussions to this.
please vote and comment! this story is still ongoing!!

"Iris, is it?" Mr. Ryder calls me out a few minutes into class and my attention immediately snaps up to him, and I smirk slightly, nodding.
"Can you see fine back there?" He questions, fake concern coating his voice and I watch as everyone in the class cranes their necks to look back at me, causing my face to become fiery red. I notice some of the girls grumble in annoyance at this and I just cast my eyes downward for a moment before meeting his gaze again. Sure, he's pretty cute for a middle-aged teacher, but I don't ever wish to be favored.
"Uh, ye-yeah..." I stutter, hating having all the attention on me and he just nods as I notice the smile on his face sag slightly. Did he want me in front or something...? The rest of the period moves along at a grueling pace and I notice how Mr. Ryder's eyes seem to constantly flicker back to mine, almost looking for my reaction to anything he says. When the bell finally rings, I gather my things and hurry out the door with my friends by my side, all too ready to leave that uncomfortable atmosphere.
"Looks like someone's the new favorite" My friend, Bianca, scoffs as we walk out of the class and I just laugh uncomfortably, glancing back at his class for a moment before continuing on.

"Have a good day, my wonderful daughter?" My mom questions as I call her to come pick me up, and I just roll my eyes. Then, realizing that she couldn't see my sarcastic move, quickly reply yes before she laughs and hangs up.
"Hey, Iris," Some guy from my English class walks up to me then and I struggle to remember his name, but to no avail. I stare at him awkwardly for a moment, before he tosses his hair back, laughing comfortably.
"Trevor. From English," His smile is bright enough to light up all of LA for a week, and I muster a smile back, wondering why exactly he's talking to me. Out of the corner of my eye, I can sense someone's eyes on me and as he starts asking me something, I notice Mr. Ryder leaned against a car...his gaze fixed on me. Gulping, I turn back to Trevor and try to pay attention to what he's asking.
"No, we better not have any homework. Even if we do, I probably won't do it," I joke and he laughs as well, his eyes staring directly into mine, causing my eyes to shift away. Why is he still standing here...
"Hey, maybe I could get your number? So we could, you know, discuss the class?" He finally asks, whipping out his phone and I grant him with a fake smile before hesitantly typing in my number. Do I even remember this guy from English? Oh well.
"Thanks, text you later," he smirks in my direction as he stalks off, back to his group of eye-balling friends and I just roll my eyes, leaning back against one of the pillars behind me. Once again, my eyes drift over to the man looming in the near distance, and I notice now that he's moved slightly closer, no longer trying to hide that he's staring directly at me. Quickly, I look away, not wanting him to think I was staring at him.
For the next few minutes, I try to occupy myself with locking and unlocking my phone, waiting for my mom to arrive and when she finally does, I quickly rush to the car. I can see him moving out of my peripheral vision, and I take longer strides to the door.
Right when I get in the car, I slam the door shut, and tell her to drive.
"No hello?" My mom observes and I notice him walking even faster to my car.
"Hello. Step on it, I have homework," I practically plead, my eyes bugging out of my chest. She just laughs as she starts driving, and just as I think I'm homefree, I hear a pound on my window. My mom jumps in her seat, and both of our heads go flying to see Ryder standing there, staring in at me with a smirk on his face. What the hell....
Slowly, I roll down my window and muster a smile up at him.
"Hi...Mr. Ryder," I greet, nodding at him and his eyes bore into mine.
"Hi, again," He smiles and at this, looks in at my mom and just smirks again, "Hello, I'm Iris' teacher." He notifies, reaching in across me to shake her hand.
"Hi," She smiles awkwardly, shaking his hand before glancing at me for a moment.
"I just wanted to introduce myself properly, I don't think I saw you at orientation and wanted to know who the parent of such a great student was," He smirks down at me, his eyes almost glowing as the sun shines on them. I cough awkwardly and she just thanks him before we say our goodbyes.
"See you tomorrow, Iris," He nods at me and then moves away from the car, to which I quickly roll up the window.
"What was that?" She gawks at him as he steps away from the car, keeping his eyes on the car as she speeds away.
"No clue," I speak truthfully and after a few seconds, we erupt into laughter - mine a bit less genuine than hers.
"He's cute though. Good thing he's taken a liking to you," She winks at me and I almost gag at the thought, shoving her.
"Shut up!" I shriek, covering my ears and she just cackles.
"For me, dummy, not you!" She laughs again and the idea still makes my heart race.
He's definitely not cute.
Definitely.
