thanks for reading! just a quick author's note as this story continues to gain traction...

this story is considered lolita-esque, but is NOT at all romanticizing or condoning the actions within this book.

this story is about an unprofessional, inappropriate and extremely wrong relationship/love story between a 13-14 year old girl and her teacher.

with that being said, it is much like a novel "My Dark Vanessa" if any of have you have read/heard of that book, this is very much in the same vein. not condoning or romanticizing the love, but very much just giving perspective to it and how complicated love can be.

just to reiterate, he is grooming her, he is a pedophile. there will be repercussions to this.

please vote and comment! this story is still ongoing!!

The next few days in that class could not have been weirder. Each day he would find some way to call me out, whether having me answer a question when I clearly wasn't answering or praise me for something.

As the bell rings and first period comes to an end, my friends and I joke around as we pack up our things.

"You're so annoying!" Bianca cackles as she shoves my bag and my pencil pouch falls over, luckily nothing falling out. Rolling my eyes, we all continue packing up and I start to follow them out the door.

"Oh, Iris!" I turn around to see Mr. Ryder bending down to pick up a pen that must have fallen out. "You dropped this," I set my backpack down to put the pen back in as he saunters over to me.

"Can't lose this one," He chuckles and I laugh politely, not really getting the joke. He points at my cheeks before handing the pen to me, making a point to move the hair out of my face. I freeze at this, wanting to glance around to see if anyone is noticing this but unable to move.

"Uh...yeah," I mumble, as I feel my cheeks heating up.

"Your cheeks are so pink," He crinkles his nose as he laughs and I can't help but think it's kind of cute. 'You nervous?" He asks, finally handing my pen back as he takes a step closer. I tense up, not knowing what to say. Why is he paying so much attention to me?

"Nope, all good here. I just gotta...gotta get going," I nod my head in the direction of the door. He looks slightly disappointed before nodding me off and I quickly make my exit, my heart racing for some reason.

"Ooh, someone's the new favorite," Hayden comments and I halt outside the door, pulling her off to the side.

"You notice it, too?" I panic, wondering how many students in this class have realized how odd our exchanges are. She nods emphatically and I just sigh, shrugging my shoulders and walking with her to class.

"Whatever. It's kind of fun. Hopefully he'll let you get away with stuff...and us too," she smirks, linking her arm in mine as we saunter into our second period science class together.

The next day in class, we're all working on a study guide for our first test. Yeah, don't get me started on having a test on the second week of school.

"And...how's it going over here?" I look up to see Mr. Ryder has made his rounds and is now looming above us, leaning over me and looking at my paper.

"Hi, Mr. Ryder," one of the girls I'm studying with - Clarissa - blushes as she looks up at him and he smile slightly, causing her to giggle.

"That's perfectly right, Iris," he smirks and for some reason I feel overwhelmed with smugness at the realization that he complimented me specifically.
