Trigger warning: oh gosh its been four months i am so sorry; mentions of depression idk
Tyler let out a long groan as he lay on his bed. The clock mounted on the wall said 2:41, and Tyler had been in bed so long he couldn't even tell if it was in the morning or afternoon.
He had been trying to summon the will to tend to his basic human needs for ages, but his stupid brain kept shooting down any suggestion of movement.
C'mon, get up! You're going to have to eventually. But I'm also going to die eventually so is it really worth it?
And so it continued.
A slight ping resonating from somewhere within the pile of blankets on his bed tugged him out of his daze. Flailing his arms around, he managed to find his phone. With a smile, he realised his best fren Josh had sent him a message.
'yo dude. wanna come over?'
The thought of leaving his bedroom felt like a heavy stone on his chest. He wanted to see Josh, but he couldn't face the world like this. Wiggling his thumbs, he typed out a reply.
'Cant, sorry. Too cripplingly depressed'
With another drawn out sigh, he gently tossed his phone to the side and flopped back onto the mattress. To his slight surprise, his phone pinged again.
'Im on my way, i shall bring you foods and cuddles. No homo tho'
Tyler felt his face crack into a smile and tears prick his eyes. Blinking them away, he stretched out again and waited. He knew that his apartment was probably a mess, but he also knew that Josh wouldn't care. It was a talent of the man to ignore most of Tyler's problems.
He drifted back into his thoughts without another worry.
The sound of gentle footsteps padding down the hall filtered into Tyler's mind. The door to his room cracked open, and a pair of mocha eyes peered in.
"Hey." A shy smile slipped onto Josh's face and he lifted a plastic bag. "I brought Taco Bell."
Tyler grinned, and patted the space next to him on the bed. Josh plonked himself down, and instantly wrapped his arms around Tyler's skinny frame. The younger boy responded instantly, with all the tension draining from his body. His head rested on Josh's shoulder, eyes slipping closed.
They stayed like that for a period of time, whether hours or minutes Tyler couldn't tell.
Josh pulled away first, gesturing to the box of food. "I would love to spend more time like that, and I will, but only after you've eaten and drank something. I bet you've been in here for ages."
Rolling his eyes, Tyler ate and drank mechanically, not really tasting anything. Josh noticed this, and the moment Tyler had finished tackled him in a hug. He wanted to help the boy feel alive again.
Shifting their position, Tyler let himself relax into Josh. His head came to rest on Josh's shoulder once more, and he succumbed to Josh's sleep inducing body heat.
Letting his eyes slide closed, he mumbled something incoherent before slipping off into sleep.

First off, I'd like to apologise for the long wait. I had no prompts no motivation, really just nothing to work with.
Secondly, this chapter was horribly short. I admit it, but I really just wanted to get something out.
That's all, just please give me prompts so this never happens again.
End my painful existence,
Rhea 💖
