(miya's p.o.v)
As the first bell of the day rang, I said my goodbye to Jason and headed to class. What sucks is I only have one class with Jason and that's Drawing. I don't even know why he's taking drawing considering that he hates art and can't even draw a stick figure correctly. Anyways, I was headed to English, the class I need to do better on this year.
I made my way down the hallway and caught up with Dominique.
"So, I didn't know Carl was back in town," she said.
"Yeah, he came by Monday when Jason was over. Caught me a little off guard, you know," I told her. I'm still not sure how to think about him coming back yet. Like, should I be happy and jumping up and down and spending time with him or should I be pissed because he stopped writing to me over a year ago? I guess it's also technically my fault we fell out of touch. I could've wrote more letters, even if he wasn't writing back.
"Yeah, I totally know how you feel," she agreed with me. "I'm having a little party this weekend, since my dad won't be home. You should come."
"I don't know. Everytime I go to a party something bad happens."
"Mi, you haven't been to a party in almost two years. Plus it's my party. I'm not gonna let anything happen to you at my party."
"Ugh, alright. I'll think about it," I said just as we arrived to our English class.
"Yes," she cheered.
We walked inside the classroom and there were only three seats left. One, was in the back, another was in the very front, and the last one was next to Carl. Before I could make a move, Dominique had already taken the seat in the back. Now, I only had two choices, should I sit in the front and embarrass myself or sit next to Carl and pray that no one thinks anything of it?
Fuck it, I thought to myself and made my way to the seat next to Carl. I sat down awkwardly and rested my books on my desk. I could feel his eyes on me and the butterflies in my stomach began to twirl like crazy. He still has this impact on me.
I relaxed in my seat and payed attention to the front of the room. Finally, the teacher stood up and began to speak.
"These are your assigned seats. You shall stay here the rest of the year. If there are any problems you will recieve a detention and I will move you. Is that understood," the teacher said. We all nodded our heads as she began class.

The day has been going on slower than ever and, finally, it's time for lunch. I went to my locker and pulled out my lunch bag. When I got to the cafeteria, almost every table was open. I took one closest to the door, because if you sit all the way in the back, it's take longer to leave ans you end up being later for class. I set my lunch down and waited for everyone else to get here. Debbie was the first one.
"Oh, my God. Isn't the new Health teacher hot," she squealed as she sat down across from. I thought about the new Health teacher and tried to remember what he looks like.
"Oh, yeah. He's okay, I guess, better than Mrs. Hampton," I said, chuckling.
"I know right, she always had a new hair on her mole every day," she half whispered and I almost spit out my water.
"Debs, I'm trying to eat here," I laughed and set my water bottle down. Soon, both Dominique and Jason joined us at the lunch table. We started up a casual conversation about the new teachers and which classes we thought were going to be the hardest.
I spotted Carl across from us, looking around for a place to sit. I decided to invite him to come sit with us, it's the least I could do.
"Carl," I called out waving to him. His eyes met mine and I waved him over. "Come sit with us," I patted the seat next to me and scooted over a little bit so he could have room.
"Thanks," he said, giving a smile to die for.
Dom and Debs both looked down at their trays and didn't say a word. While Jason, on the other hand, had a really confused look on his face. I kicked Debbie's legs and gave her wide eyes, signaling for her to say something.
"So, the new Health teacher, he's so hot," she said. I couldn't help but laugh at her.
"Totally," I joked, taking a bite of my apple.
"You wanna walk to 5th period together," Debbie asked, looking from me to Carl. He nodded his head and I did, too.
"So, uh, when did you and Dominique become friends," Carl asked me. I looked at Dominique then back at Carl.
"She apologized for everything that she did and we sort of just became friends," I said unsurely, lauging a little.
"Yeah," Dom agreed laughing with me.
"Cool," was all he said before he took a bite of his chicken nugget.
Soon, lunch ended and Debbie, Carl, and I headed to History.

The final bell rang for school and I shot up and jolted for the door. Today has been the longest day ever and I'm so glad that it's finally over.
I got to my locker and quickly opened it, throwing my books in and grabbing my bookbag out of it. I threw my bag over my shoulders and slammed my locker shut.
"Ready to go," I turned around and was facing Debbie. Jesus Christ, she almost gave me a heart attack.
"Jesus, Debbie, you scared me," I said, my hand on my chest.
"Sorry," she laughed. "You ready to head home?" I nodded my head and we began walking out of school. "So, Lip just called me and said they want to have a gender reveal and welcome home party for Kate and Carl at your house tonight."
"Oh, okay. Sounds great," I said. "Wait, what's a gender reveal party?"
"It's when you get a cake and you have the baker put either pink or blue frosting in the middle and you cut it to reveal the sex of your baby. I did it when I was pregnant with Franny," she said.
"Oh, speaking of Franny, where is she while your at school," I asked. I never really see Franny that much.
"She's at her grandmother's. Derek's mom offered to watch her while I was at school and stuff," Debbie told me.
"Oh, that's nice of her," I said.
"I guess," Debbie just shrugged and we continued walking home.
We finally reached my house and saw that Lip and Kate were just getting home from the grocery store.
"Hey, Mi. Hey, Debs," she said as we walked up to the front gate. "How was your first day of school?"
"It's was good," I said.
"The new Health teacher is so hot," Debbie said. I laughed once again.
"Oh, my God. Stop talking about the new Health teacher," I said. She just rolled her eyes.
"Can you guys give us a hand with these groceries? You can help us set up for tonight, if you don't have any homeowork,"Lip suggested.
"Sure," Debbie and I both agreed as we began to carry groceries into the house.

a/n: boring chapter but I want to take this book a little slower than the last one. i feel like it went a little too fast. also, i made it so that debbie is a year behind school on purpose because she went back after she had her baby and stuff, i want to add franny into this book more because i feel bad that i didn't add her in the last one and no one really does. so, yeah.
