Chapter 20: Elphaba's Point of View

Elphaba looked out the window, watching the snow melt. In a matter of weeks, he rhwole world had come crashing down on her. Doctor Dillamond had died. She was accused of being Wicked. She had to leave her best friend. All of Oz turned on her. The Wizard dissappeared, and she was blamed. Boq nearly died, and when she saved him, he believed she was the one who'd killed him in the first place. And now, just when she thought her life couldn't get worse, her sister had just died. All Elphie had was Fiyero, who's good looks, smooth voice, and amazing abililty to lover her solved almost all her problems, and she was thankful for that.

"They mobbed me today Yero." She sniffled, not wanting to cry and risk the pain. He came over to the witch and hugged her close.

"Oh Fae. My dear Fae. I'm so sorry. It's not fair. Why can't they see what I see? Beauty. Elegance. Charm. Perfection." He kissed the top of her head. Immediately Elphaba felt better, but she was still saddened. Why her? Of all the people in Oz. She sighed heavily.

"Yero, I love you so much. I hope you know that." She layed her head against his chest.

"I do know that." He lifted her head up and pressed his lips against hers. The sole thing that was able to rejuvenate Elphaba. His touch. She wondered if Galinda would ever find out about the affair, and what she would do about it. She would understand, right? Elphie hoped so. Otherwise there wouldn't be much left to live for. She escaped Fiyero's grasp and walked over to the table, where her crystal ball sat. Fiyero followed her. Before the two Ozians started making out again, Elphaba had a vision. Anna, the girl from Arendelle,-the one with her sister's shoes- was talking to Galinda. What were they talking about? Was there a chance Galinda would come find her? A great happiness filled up inside Elphaba. She'd been dying to see Galinda again. But something else occupied Elphie's emotions. Fear. What if Galinda saw Fiyero, and turned against Elphaba, along with the rest of Oz? No. That couldn't happen. An idea began to form in the young witch's mind, and a good one. She felt selfish somewhat, as the plan was to ensure her own death, but it was for Galinda's happiness.
