Chapter 25: Anna's Point of View

Anna stood, gaping at the beast in front of her. A lion, standing on its hind legs, hairy and huge.

"Dorothy Gale, we need to get out of here before that thing attacks us!!!!" cried Boq.

"Shhhh......" Anna stood incredibly still, watching the creature. He seemed to be......crying? No, that couldn't be. Tarids crept closer to the lion, but Anna stayed fixed in her position, watching.

"What are you doing?!?!" yelled Boq. Anna ignored him.

"WAAAAAAAH!" The lion let out a terrible sob.

"My paw!" Shocked and confused, Anna fainted, only to wake suddenly in Boq's arms.

"Glad I caught you." He smirked. Anna jumped out of his hold, disgusted.

"I already told you, I'm engaged. Now, what the hell is going on here?!?"

"He's a Lion you idiot. Not a lion."

"I don't hear a difference."

"Lions, with a capital L, mind you, can talk."

"That's crazy." Anna approached the Lion.

"What seems to be the matter?" She asked soothingly. The Lion stuck out his paw, where a huge thorn was stuck.

"Oh, here, let me." She proceeded to remove the thorn.

"But......it'll hurt!" Wailed the Lion.

"No it won't. Trust me. 1......2......3!" The thorn popped out with a swish of Anna's hand.

"Waah-oh. I guess you were right." Anna laughed. "Thank you. Now, while you're here, way in the outskirts of Oz, may I ask where you're going?"

"The Vinkus." Snapped Boq.

"Would you like to join us?" Anna said cheerfully, brining a smile to the Lion's face.

"NO!" yelled Boq protestantly.

"Can I?" Pleaded the Lion innocently.

"Yes of course!" Anna linked arms with the Lion, smiling at him. Boq muttered words of utter protest, but they were ignored. Anna and the new companion began to skip along the yellow brick road further down the path, laughing all the way. Boq sulked behind them. Dorothy was so beautiful. She reminded him of Nessarose, before she got the crazies. Shockingly pretty, gentle, kind, extraordinary, and the shoes of course, the shoes just overdid it. Boq wished she wasn't engaged, and that she didn't think he was a creep. He'd never meant to be, he was just overwhelmed by her perfection. He felt alone, but didn't want to leave Dorothy's side, in hope that maybe one day she'd change her mind.

The three (plus Tardis) continued along the road as the sun rose high up into the sky. They walked for a while, until they hit a beautiful meadow full of red poppies. Little did Anna know that her emotions towards Boq were about to change, forever.
