Chapter 28: Elphaba's Point of View

Elphaba was worried beyond Ozian possible. Not only was she about to commit suicide (through Dorothy/Anna), but she was also pregnant. How did she not see this coming? NO. She couldn't die. Not now, not while there was a living thing inside of her. Finally, she decided on a more reasonable plan.

"Fiyero?" She called. He came into the room and hugged her tightly, making Elphaba slightly uneasy.

"Fae! I'm so glad you're feeling better. I was so-" He was cut off by the green Witch.

"Yero, Galinda's coming. We have to leave Oz. She can't find out about us. I can't do any more damage. Please." She pled.

"Okay.....if you're sure that's what you want....." He said, worriedly.

"It is. Trust me. My visions don't lie. Fetch me a bucket of water, would you?"

"But Fae, water.....it could kill you!!!" 

"Just please. I know what I'm doing. Get me a bucket of water and meet me downstairs in a few hours. I love you." She kissed his forehead lightly.

"Alright. I love you too Fae." He ran off. Elphaba walked out to the balcony, where Anna, Boq and a Lion had just landed.

"YOU! The WICKED WITCH!!!!!!!" Boq cried, seeing his long lost friend. Dorothanna cupped a hand over his mouth, which he licked, leaving Anna blushing slightly.

"Boq, she is not Wicked. You've got to trust me on this one." She turned to Elphaba. "How'd you know I wanted to speak with you? You must be a great sorceress."

"Well, I had a vision, but that's not important. Actually, I have a huge favor to ask of you." Elphaba sighed, looking down.

"Fine, but answers first. Where's my sister?" Anna jumped right to the point, not wanting to wait any longer.

"I'm sorry, what? Oh. That's what you wanted. Well since you're about to help me with something extremely important, I can tell you that all I know is that she's in another kingdom, quite closer to here actually. Conora was it? Corona perhaps?" Elphaba said earnestly.

"Corona! It's just North of here! I should have known. Alright then, let's go!" She grasped for Boq's hand.

"What? Wait!!!! The favor, remember?" Elphaba urged.

"Why should we help you? You turned me into a tin man!!!!!" Boq cried, glaring at his ex best friend. Elphaba nearly sneered.

"I did, mind you, because my sister decided it'd be a fantastic idea to kill you!!!!!!" She lurched at him, but Anna jumped in front. The Witch looked as though she was about to slap him.

"No. It's okay Elphaba, we'll help you." Insisted Anna. "What do you need us to do?"

"Kill me." Anna's eyes widened.

"I'm sorry, what?"

"Look, I've pretty much destroyed Oz already, but now I've had another vision. My best friend, Galinda, is following you to find me, but the thing is, I live here with my boyfriend, who left her for me. If she finds out, I'll really feel Wicked. I can't cause her any more pain. Water is my weakness, oddly enough, so I need you to return here tomorrow, like you're going to kill me. At the right moment, attack me with water. I'll fall through a trap door, and Galinda will, with luck, presume me dead. The water will burn, sure, but won't be enough to kill me. Then Fiyero and I will be able to escape. Got it?" Anna was confused. Didn't she say she wanted to die? And now she isn't going to die? What the hell, make up your mind lady!!!!!!

"Wait, you're not dying? I'm confused."

"No, I'm going to fake my death." Elphaba laughed, but then went rigid. "I can't actually die. Not now, at least."

"Why not?" Said Boq snarkily.

"Because......." The Witch hesitated. "Because I'm pregnant." Boq and Anna both looked at Elphaba, jaws dropped.

"What!?" Screeched Boq, shocked.

"Please don't tell anyone." She pleaded.

"We won't" Promised Anna.

"Thank you. Downstairs there are three empty bedrooms for you. You're welcome to stay as long as you need. Tomorrow come around from the back, to the front of the castle, after I've sent a signal. Thank you all, for everything." Elphaba shooed them off and went to her bedroom, wondering how in the world she was going to raise a child.
