*Flashback*
Normani and Lauren spend their last day in Houston walking around town. In the morning they're set to get on two different planes, one to New York and one to Florida. They planned on going to the same College, NYU. Unfortunately, Lauren didn't get accepted and wound up going to UF.
The two eighteen year olds walk into the old blockbuster and look for three good movies to get.
"Ok Milan, Bring It On, and Cadillac Records?" Lauren asks
Normani nods her head and grabs some candy for them. They walk out the store and Normani gets on Lauren's back, wanting to be as close to her as possible before it's all gone. Especially since Lauren would probably never know how she truly felt about her.
"How can you just leave me standing? Alone in a world that's so cold" Normani sings
"Maybe I'm just too demanding, maybe I'm just like my father, too bold" Lauren sings, bouncing around
"Stop bouncing before you drop me" Normani laughs
"I would never drop you" Lauren fake pouts
"Explain last night" Normani smirks
"You caught me off guard" Lauren defends
"Chile I guess"

The two of them get up from the dinner table and go up to Normani's room to get comfortable, once they've showered and change into sleepable clothing they get into her bed and put the movie into the laptop before cuddling up. Lauren's head on Normani's chest, her leg in between hers, and her arm draped over her torso with Normani's arm wrapped around Lauren's waist.
"What am I gonna do without you?" Lauren mumbles
"Don't think about that babe, let's just live in the moment while we can" Normani says
Lauren's heart flutters at the name and she nods her head, Normani kisses her forehead and holds her closer to her.
They wake up in the morning to Normani's alarm, they quickly get ready and go down to eat breakfast. Once they're done Normani gets her suitcases and starts saying goodbye to her parents. Being that Lauren's parents are going to California to help out a family member for a few years, they take the ride with them.
Arriving at the airport, they do all the necessary things then sit in the waiting area. Soon enough Lauren's parents' flight gets called and they hug the girls tightly.
"Good luck you two, I know you'll do great" Clara smiles
"Try to keep in touch as much as possible" Mike adds
The bid another goodbye, followed by 'I love you' and board their flight.
About an hour later Normani's flight gets called and Lauren starts tearing up while pulling her into a hug.
"You're gonna do great, I'm sure of it" Lauren smiles
Pulling away, her heart breaks as she sees tears running down Normani's face. Being that Normani doesn't like crying, especially in public, Lauren knows just how much this is hurting her.
"I'm gonna miss you more than you know" Normani mumbles through her tears
"So will I and no matter what anybody says, you're perfect just the way you are" Lauren says
Normani smiles and pulls Lauren in for another hug.
"Bye Lauren, I love you so much" Normani sighs
"I love you too Normani, good luck" Lauren says
"Good luck" Normani smiles
Lauren watches Normani walk away and her heart starts beating rapidly, like it's telling her to do something. Knowing what it is that she's holding inside, all she wants to do is let it out, so she does, considering that they won't physically see each other for years.
"Normani wait!"
Lauren speeds up to Normani and places a hand on her waist.
"I forgot to tell you something"
Before Normani can respond, Lauren presses her lips against hers and brings her other hand up to caress Normani's cheek. Once Lauren feels Normani kissing back, she deepens the kiss and pulls her closer.
"I love you" Lauren confesses when they pull away
"I love you too" Normani grins, feeling her emotions run wild
"Go make me proud and be the superstar you wanna be" Lauren chuckles
"Same for you" Normani says with a small smile
They kiss one more time then say another goodbye. When Normani gets to the gate she turns back to look at Lauren again and makes a heart with her hand, over her own. Lauren blushes and does it back, when Normani's no more in sight Lauren sits down and reaches up to touch her half of the necklace her and Normani got two days ago.
Unfortunately after a year they lost contact once Lauren got a new phone.
