Normani and Lauren were childhood friends and they split up from the outcome of suddenly going to different colleges. They meet again now that they're famous and old feelings come back.
I head to the awards with Quincy and Tori, today Normani can't ignore me if she wanted to.
"I'm so excited" I smile
"About seeing Normani or the performance?" Tori asks
"Both" Quincy says
"I can answer for myself Quinc" I say
"Nahhh you wanna see your lover more than the performance" He smirks
"Is that bad?" I ask, offended
"You getting offended for what? Lovergirl" He says
"The love of your life is on that carpet somewhere" Tori says as we pull up
"Y'all funny" I say
We start walking down the carpet and I smile at the different cameras. I see Mickey coming this way from the corner of my eye. Once he's near us my eyes fall onto Normani as she stands next to him with a blank expression but I can tell her thoughts are running wild.
"I don't know what's up with you two but you need to push it away for the night cause as far as the public knows, you two are closer than close" He says
"Sorry Mickey" I mumble
"Try to get through the night please" He says before walking off
"Hi" I say softly
"Hey" She says, sending me a small wave
"Congratulations on the album" I say with a slight smile
"Thanks" She says lowly
Not wanting to speak about anything in such a public atmosphere, I grab onto her hand and pull her closer to me. Being this close to her and having this much contact is making me feel so alive inside.

As we sit in our seats my eyes widen as I remember we have to sit next to each other too. Yes God!
"You sitting next to your boo and whatnot" Quincy whispers into my ear
"Whyyyyyy?" I chuckle
"It's fun" He says
Time passes and soon enough it's time for me and Normani to get ready.
Once we're ready to go we get into a Prayer circle then start making our way to the stage.
The red, purple, and pink lights illuminate the ground as we walk out and I start off the song.
