I stopped just before we reached the steps, suddenly I found that the palms of my hands were extremely sweaty and I began to aggressively wipe them against my pants. It was an odd feeling to be so nervous, considering I hardly ever got nervous at all. But this was different, I had never done a job interview before or gone to school in the traditional sense. Mother having always valued physical training than learning as one would do in a proper classroom. Now regret began to sink, I didn't even remember agreeing to this at all.

When Barry realized that I was no longer following him he turned around looking slightly amused. I could only imagine the look on my face. "What is it?"

"You know I don't even remember agreeing to this." I stated attempting to sound as indifferent as possible.

"I told you it was either working at the CCPD with Joe and I or applying to CCU with Wally." Barry pointed out, suddenly brining back the memory of choosing the CCPD because going to school seemed much more intimidating. Which was ironic considering that only a couple months ago I felt no fear towards Zoom who could have killed me in a blink of an eye.

"Well, I've changed my mind."

Barry seemed stunned for a moment and then recovered quickly, still seeming to find me amusing. Usually I would have been furious at the thought of being laughed at, but my nerves were winning over. "Look the job is practically secured. You have recommendations from Joe and I, all you have to do is an interview with Singh."

"I don't even know what position I'm applying for." I argued, my resolve disappearing as I began to accept the fact that I was going to have to do this interview. There were many things I have done in my past that would have been considered terrifying to the average person and I would rather do them again a thousand times over than have to do this interview.

"Evidence custodian."

I looked at him blankly, anxiety kicking in once again. "I don't even know what that is."

"You'll be in charge of the storage of evidence. It's easy." He argued with what I was sure was meant to be a comforting smile. "Singh already had your resume."

"My resume." I repeated, my mind working to reason with the idea that he must have falsified a resume as I have had neither past work experience or an educational background. "You've made me a fake resume? Is that not illegal?"

"Well..."

"Fine I'll do it." I declared as I began to walk up the step towards the station. Having to force my usual confidence, now determined conquer this unexpected fear of mine. "Though I firmly believe there are more important tasks I could be doing. Like helping find this Alchemy."

"Doctor Alchemy." Barry corrected as he followed after me. "Don't let Cisco here you call him just Alchemy."

I found it odd that they were not looking into the mystery of Alchemy more closely considering that they were going around creating meta humans from flashpoint. But I could see their eagerness to have their live go back to normal. Or as normal as possible.  I only wondered how long it would be until Doctor Alchemy created more trouble around their precious city.

The fact that I now had a job hadn't completely sunk in once I stepped out of Singh's office or when I was getting ready this morning. Now that Barry had left me on my own to sort through evidence, the reality of my situation began to set in. My mother would be horrified to see me doing such mundane tasks like going to work.
