Three hours into training and into was painfully clear that none of us were any match with Supergirl. And although no one in the room was going to admit it we very much needed a rest. The Kryptonian's invulnerability was both unsettling and incredibly frustrating as once again none of our efforts were any match with her wide range of abilities.
"Are you sure you want me to keep going?" Kara questioned her voice heavy with concern as her feet touched the floor again. After hours of training with her I was beginning to believe that she alone would be capable of taking on an alien invasion. Though we certainly weren't the only groups of heroes who were going to take on this worldwide threat.
"Yeah." Oliver replied breathlessly before quickly gaining his composure. He cleared his throat as he looked up at Supergirl who didn't seem close to being out of breath. "Yes. Just give us five minutes."
"You still don't think you should tell them?" Cisco's voice suddenly echoed throughout the warehouse. Everyone turned towards him and Barry who had clearly been in the middle of an argument that now everyone in the room was a part of. Slowly everyone gathered around Cisco and Barry who were incredibly tense, though Cisco seemed satisfied with this turn of events.
"Tell us what?" Sara Lance questioned as she stepped forward. I didn't know much about her other than she was part of the League of Assassins for a couple of years and was believed to be a skilled fighter.
Barry looked at all of us helplessly as we all gathered around him. Seeing Barry flustered and consumed by guilt was not new to me, but it was to the others who already looked at the man who was our leader for this mission with worry. With a sigh Barry's eyes seemed to settle on one one in particular as he stepped forward. "Jax and Professor Stein found a message from me in the future saying that, right now, I can't be trusted."
"And why would future you say that?"
"I think because I went back in time and changed the timeline, and now things here are different than before I left, including some of your lives." He admitted undoubtedly preparing himself for everyone's disapproval and anger. What Barry had done was a selfish act that resulted in changes to more than just his life. This was something the other's would not take lightly.
"Some of our lives? Like who?" Ray Palmer questioned as he cross his arms over his chest, more curious than worried about the news.
"Cisco. Caitlin. Wally. Dig." Barry stated as his eyes settled on Diggle the only one who was not aware of the drastic change in his life. A change I was sure that he would not take lightly. As Barry explained to Diggle how his son was once his daughter the energy in the room shifted immediately.
John Diggle remained silent for moment as he processed Barry's words and their meaning. Then the confusion on his face instantly became rage as he realized the extent of what he had just lost. "So, wait, you... let me get this straight. You just, uh... You just erased a daughter from my life?"
"You can't go back and just change things like that, Barry. I know. You know how hard it is for me to not alter events? To bring my sister back?" Sara Lance exclaimed as she stole a single glance at me. One that told me that we might have more in common than I had initially believed as she too had lost her sister only a few months ago. "But I don't, because I know the implications."
Everyone in this room has had previous connections with one another and it was not lost on me that I was the outsider among them other than Supergirl. I didn't know these people and felt nothing for them or their pain for this situation. But I did understand the betrayal that they felt for not being aware of the truth.
