Blake got home straight after track to get changed to meet Jughead.

"How'd it go?" Her dad asked as she walked in.

"Great, I'm on the team again." She smiled.

"Well done, Sweetie." Her dad commended.

"Thanks, dad. I'm gonna get ready, I'm meeting Jughead at Pop's." She went to go upstairs.

"Are you and Jughead, you know..."

"Dating. Dad, we are dating." She told him.

"Okay just be careful."

"I know, we've had this conversation before remember? I need to get ready." She ran upstairs before the conversation could get any more awkward. She hopped in the shower and got changed. She was drying her hair when Archie knocked on the door frame.

"Hey." He said.

"Hey."

"Can I ask you something?" He enquired.

"Shoot." She smiled.

"The coach offered me a place on the varsity team." Archie started as he walked over and sat on her bed.

"Arch, that's amazing!" She exclaimed.

"That's not it all." He sighed. "He offered me Jason's number, and I don't think I can live up to those expectations. I want to pursue my music but I also want to play football. I guess, I'm saying, I don't know what to do, Bee."

"You should do what you want, not what anyone else wants of you. You can play football and pursue your music." She smiled. "And it doesn't matter if you don't think you can live up to Jason, just because you've got the same hair colour doesn't mean that you are him. You can only be your own person." She assured him.

"Thanks, Bee. I'm gonna go practice. You make the team?" He queried.

"Yep."

"Well done. You and Jughead going to the dance?" He seemed nervous about something.

Blake laughed. "You think you could get either of us there tonight. No, we're meeting at Pop's. You going?"

"Yeah, with Betty and Veronica." He muttered.

"Just be a nice gentleman and everything will be fine. Now I do have to get ready." She smiled. He returned the smile and left. She finished getting ready and walked downstairs to hear Archie and her dad on the front porch.

"I, um I got a call from your coach today. He's under the impression that you can't play varsity football because I'm making you work for me. Which is odd, because you made it seem like you couldn't work for me because you were playing football. So, my first question is Who are you lying to? Me or your coach?" Their dad started. Blake grabbed her converse but didn't want to walk out while they were in the middle of something.

"Neither." Archie replied but Blake knew their dad had pinned him in a corner. He sighed. "Both."

Their dad sighed.

"I want to study music, I want to write music." Archie tried.

"Football takes you to college. College takes you to business school. Business school..."

Archie cut him off. "Takes me back here. To work for you in Riverdale."

"Not for me, with me. And eventually for yourself, son. The company would be yours." Their dad told him.

"No disrespect, Dad, but I don't want it." Archie said

"Three months ago, you did." Their dad sounded hurt. "What happened?"
