21. A little less pain

I should've known you never really cared,
The world is a liar and its stage you shared.
The mask you wore  looked so preposterously  true,
That I too was incarcerated  in the trap set by you.
I did a few mistakes, but you should understand,
That sometimes even leaves rust and fall on the land.
It isn't their blemish, their fate is such,
Who can escape destiny's touch?
But perhaps that was too much to expect,
And now there's nothing left but to regret.
I wish I had seen the black before the white,
Perhaps then there would be a little less pain in what I write.
