We were all sitting in the room we took her to after we slaughtered that death god and imprisoned the rest in more so really difficult cuffs where they were less then likely to escape. No matter what anyone said I wouldn't let go of my daughter or Lucy's hand as we sat down in the home that belonged to I and Lucy. She slept so peacefully that you'd think maybe she was just dreaming, maybe we were dreaming, maybe everyone was! Truly I wish this was just a nightmare that I could wake up from in moments though could I when I know that it's not fake?
I remember that one day my daughter cooed and I tried to figure out what to name her since Lucy wouldn't want our dear little baby girl to be without a name. A sigh left my lips as I thought and thought before picking one. She always told me that even though her adoptive mother was never her real mother she thought of her as a real mother so I think that in honor of my dear Wife's kind of mother that we'll name her Layla Nora Dreyar.
"My little Layla." A smile was on her face as I hugged her close to be happy that Rae had the ability to stabilize her and for a six year old she was sure strong so when she smiled and left we were all kind of sad to see her go though she told us that she needed to explore and see the world that they confined her from seeing. True as it may be that she's special we all know that she's stubborn and won't let anyone take her and say no ever and oh boy do I mean ever! She's stubborn as a mule when it comes down to it all!
My eyes looked at my dear blonde lover who slept calmly her chest rising slowly with slightly parted lips making me so sad that no matter what we did we could never seem to wake her up and it's been how long since that day? I think a year. Lucy is still asleep and Lucius and I visit her everyday with Layla who still loved playing with my nose. Lucius was happy to have a sister and all but he was sad to have lost his mother to another fight that we don't know if she'll ever wake up from! Natsu and the other frequently came by to visit making a smile bloom in my soul that they never give up when it comes to this girl.
Erza and Jellal were smiling at each other as at this time we were all outside having fun in the back of my house. They were married as of last month as were the other couples who followed in suit so now I was one of the only couples who didn't get married though most understood that though still it hurt to know that Lucy couldn't be there for them or that I couldn't marry her yet because she wasn't even awake though who really cared about that all when all everyone wanted was for her to just wake up! All anyone wanted was for her to wake up and that was all there was to it.
Currently though she was sleeping as I did bring some work with me from the guild after I finished work so that I could work on that and still watch her. Yes I fully admit that it's a little creepy to me doing something like this but would you just sit and cry while waiting for it all to pass by hoping that she'd wake up then just come see you? Who knows the damage that was caused by that battle not to mention the anger that still might fuel inside of her even though we have our child back.
Sighing I got up and made my way downstairs to get some food cooked for the two idiotic goofball children of mine. Lucius was still running around like usual while Layla sat in her own seat sleeping. Don't get me started on how much that girl can sleep because in all honesty I don't know how she sleeps as much as she does! Smile though was all I could do I mean she was so important and so special that there was no way that I could be mad about it and after all she was still my child until the very end of it all.
Lucius bounded up and down the stairs on a frequent basis to see his mother even if she was asleep which kind of was cute for him to do so instead of hang out with the other kids when he really should be. You can't always be a kid. No one can always just be a kid for the test of their lives even though some may want that for themselves. Lucius was becoming an adult before my very eyes and he was only seven years old.
There was a loud bang though that made me stop cooking and for a second all there was was this unchained silence that made me a bit scared for a second or two though when I shrugged and went back to cooking it was quickly followed by tears. That wasn't something that I thought would be normal in this time and day since there were only two of us who could willingly cry about something not to mention Layla's in front of me right now not crying! She's smiling and giggling trying to get out of her seat to crawl around or something along those lines heck who am I kidding? I don't know!
"Lucius? Lucius are you okay." I'd grabbed his sister and made my way up the stairs slightly angered that my daughter was playing with the hair on my head without a deterrence factor but all the same she played with my hair though I got to where Lucius was and there he was hugging his mother who rather than sleep like she was was hugging him back quietly shushing him as he just sobbed like a baby though I myself could feel a tear escaping my eyes which quickly turned into tears falling like a waterfall. When Lucy lifted her head up and met mine she smile at me.
"Hey Spark Plug."
