Abby's POV
Abby sucked in a breath, head in her arms against the cold lunch table, snug only because of her emo jacket. She felt enormously tired. Usually it was fine. She slept extremely late sometimes but...she felt empty. Her stomach was a gaping abyss of nothing, and she felt the weird feeling...well to feel. It was ridiculous, she chastised herself, to want to feel. She was a cold, no soul person and a demon that looked like a human that had no feelings. She shook her head of her thoughts as Salome came over. The korean girl looked sad, chewing on her lip, eyes downcast and flitting to everyone and anything but her.
"Nothing?" she asked. She was surprised and how distant she was from herself. It sounded like a person very far away speaking, instead of her.
"No. I looked everywhere." The girls had been tracking shade centre for weeks and got nothing.
"But I think I found something this morning." Abby said.
"Okay, after school, we'll go check it out." The day dragged by slowly until the bell rang for 7th period. The two girls leapt up, and walked outside of the school.
(A/N Sorry too lazy to write the whole school day)
"So where is it?" Salome asked, after talking to her mother in korean.
"Over here." Abby walked to the back of the school while Salome looked around to make sure they weren't being watched. There was a place behind the dumpster where a spilled frappucino with the word Yasmin on it lay.
"What does this mean?" Salome asked.
Abby thought furiously. "You know that man with the icy eyes and fair hair? He sometimes picked her up and I think they were getting close. I think I saw her carrying a frap one day while he was by her side."
"You're right!" Salome said.
Abby felt a brief flash of pride. That girl was a genius.
"But what about the other guy Heathen?" She asked.
Abby thought for a minute. "Well, I think he was a twin or something to the Beau guy because I saw him pick Yasmin up a couple times too and then she rejected him once."
"So what you're saying is they might have kidnapped her?"
Abby raised her brows. "I didn't say that, you did."
Salome shook her head in confusion. "There has to be more evidence."
Abby went over to check the place out more, when she saw scuffle marks pretty near to the dumpster. She went a little ways where Yasmin probably had seen the boys to spy on them or something and smelled three different scents.
"Salome!"
The korean girl walked over, forehead creased.
"I smell a forest scent, a smoky scent and a very weird cologne."
"What are you smelly bear?" Salome teased.
Abby gave her a look and the asian ceased to speak, smiling.
"Wait!" Salome inched towards Abby. "Don't look now, but there's a very rich car over there and I saw someone staring at me." she hissed the words through clenched teeth.
Abby saw a man with dark spiky hair lounging in a leather cockpit, the brim of a hat low over his head so they couldn't see his eyes. He was holding a cigarette and took a long drag on it. He lifted the hat ever so, and Abby immediately felt dark chills run down her spine. She was dark, but this man was something else. She watched as the man turned to the driver, and she saw a woman wearing a hoodie. All she could see of the woman was red hair in a braided plait.
"Remember when Yasmin's kidnappers sent us that text, saying that they were watching us?" Abby said out of the corner of her mouth. She had a feeling it was useless. The man watching them knew that they were watching him to see if he was watching them.
"Yes. " Salome tried to say casually, eyes flitting to the strangers once in a while.
"Think that's them?"
"Yes."
"What are we supposed to do?"Abby inquired.
"Walk away," Salome tilted her head to the side and the girls slowly started shuffling away.
There was a blur and the woman in the hoodie stood in front of them. She was wearing a belt and had a gun in her holster. She slipped it out and cocked it at them, her finger on the trigger. When she spoke, the voice was distorted so they couldn't track who it was. "Don't try to find your friend. Unless you want to end up where she is."
"And where would that be?" Abby shot back, eyes challenging.
The woman rolled her eyes and a beam of sunlight touched the rim of her hood, so Abby caught a flash of tantalizingly blue eyes.
(A/N) I know my hints are extremely generous so you should probably know who it is now.
There was a very strange shift in her heart. Her mouth was suddenly very dry and her voice was caught in her throat.
"What did you do to her?" Salome strode forward so that she was extremely close to the woman.
"Oh, I haven't done anything, but I'm going-" her voice was cut off as Salome pepper-sprayed her in the face.
The woman didn't seem rather in pain, though her teeth were gritted. "It's him. He has her."
Salome dropped the pepper spray and walked away, her face hard.
The woman didn't seem to stop them so Abby followed, throwing a scathing look behind her.
Once they were quite far, Abby turned to Salome. "How do you have a pepperspray?"
"I just do." she said and hummed lionheart.
Abby let a grin lift her lips.
Yasmin's POV
Yasmin lay on the cold, gritty floor, trying to sleep, the room pitch-black. She was grateful for the absence of light, however, because tears streamed down hee face, hot and wet, and she tried to make as little noise as possible even though all she wanted to do was cry out and curl into a ball. Yasmin was a very peculiar person. She wasn't crying, with a lonely tragicness, because of becoming Drah's Queen or because she would have to undergo intense training with the boys she had grown to like. She was crying because of her friends. More tears flooded down. Her heart squeezed, contracted, wrenched inside of her as she thought of Salome's unique, bubbly, amazing laugh and Abby's occasional smile, even though the girl insisted she was entirely depressed. She lay there until she was out of tears, and, looking up into pitch black darkness, fell asleep.Hey guys! Sorry I haven't updated in ages.
