"Surprised?" He let out a humorless laugh.
"Don't cry, young lady. It ruins your beautiful face." Park Soohyuk wipes my face with the pad of his thumb to no avail. The continuous stream of hot tears falling without a sound out of my throat.
My body was frozen yet trembling at his repulsive touch. "You two are the same. Hopeful and pathetic hearts. Weak." He roughly grabbed my chin forcing my head up. I avoid his gaze at all costs.
"I would rather have a heart and endure pain than be a soulless waste of space." I thought.
"She speaks. What brave words to speak. Braver than Yoona. You are going to be fun, Ms. Jung." My eyes widened an inch. I said that out loud?
His hand slaps me across the face. The sensation hot and fresh. His grip falls off my face making my body instantly go limp. My knees colliding with the ground with a loud thump.
The thump remaining me of a shatter of glass against marble flooring. Muffled screams and cries. A tear strained pale face, the red blush cheeks fading away. The depths of dark brown eyes diminishing away from this very reality.
She still tried to speak. She tried her last attempt at calling out for the one she hoped would save her,
"Chanyeol."
A tear lingering under my jaw fell into my open palm. "I was there..." My mouth fell agape, my lower lip shaking. It was never a dream. I was a witness to someone's death. That drunken night, blurred and disoriented, after meeting her in the hotel's bar I witnessed Yoona's death with my own eyes.
"I should've ended you but she begged me for your life. A women she didn't know. Truly pathetic."
"Why didn't you..." I snarled, glancing up at the older man. The playful smirk playing on his lips irking me. "Kill me."
He stares down at me like I'm a lowlife. The memories of a tall dark figure hovering above me in my frozen state emerged. A victorious smirk evident on his lips in my memory of that night. Black shoes tapping against the flooring like the ringing of the bell of death.
He leaned down slightly. My jaw clenched when the man brushes his forehead against the side of my head. His breath fanning against the expanse of my neck. I tightly shut my eyes closed, hoping that if I blink my eyes open this wouldn't be real.
"That's a question for a different time, Sweetheart." He breaths an evocative wave of tremblings down my spine.
Mr. Park moves away, standing above me like I have been conquered by him. I exhale a sigh of relief at the separation that was given.
My fingertips began to tingle, pins and needles pricking the underlay of my skin. I wiggle my fingers then hands. I realize my hands are immovable. Restrained behind my lower back. The tie wrap's thick plastic digs into the skin of my wrist, impriniting red rings.
Soohyuk chuckles at my struggle and confusion in pure amusement. He did this.
A short distinct thump on the door of the expensive wood of the office.
"He's here...Your answer decided to join us." Park says with a wide grin.
"I know you will enjoy this, Eunji."
