Chapter 19

It took me a whole three hours to get ready. I never thought it would take me that long just to get ready for my birthday. I was wearing a black tight knee length dress with lace shoulders and sleeves, with a lace train, my shoes were black with clear platforms. My makeup was natural looking but i had on red lipstick. alot of the guys from my pack turned their heads but then quickly looked away when they saw jace walk over and put his hand on my waist and kiss my forehead, I looked up at him and put my best smile on my face. I knew something had to be wrong. I saw Dereck with the same girl close to his side and she was looking at him like he was some roman god or somthing and playing with the little peices of his curly black hair that was swept to one side across his face. I don't know why this was bothering me so much, but it was i felt like we had been really close in some way, like we had a connection that i just can't quite wrap my head around. When i was next to him i felt weightless and filled with so much joy, I just wanted him to be close to me, i wanted to kiss him so bad and make him mine and let his focus to be only on me like my attention was only on him, it was like nothing else mattered? This made me angry, because i felt this way about a guy who didn't even remember who i was, i mean doesnt even know who i am. I felt Jace's hand tighten around my waist, I look up at him and he looks deep in my eyes.

"Are you okay?" He asks

"Yeah, im fine" I tug out of his grip and swiftly walk over to the table and get a glass of fruit punch. I take a deep breath and try to steady my thoughts.

He walks over to me it didn't look like walking it was like he glided across the floor over to me. I look him straight in the eyes as i sip my fruit punch, He stops right infront of me, looks me in the eyes and leand down towards me and i lean toward him with sweet bliss filling my every vein and rushing through my blood. So he does remember, i felt so happy, it turned out that it wasn't just a dream. then he pulled back and said the words that would have made me drop dead of embarrassment if i wasn't so irritated.

"You're infront of the punch" He says.

I bite the inside of my bottom lip before i move over so he can get his punch. He looks at me a long time like he was thinking of something, before he left to go back to his blonde friend.

I am starlted out of my thoughts by the sound of Brookes voice

"I have a bad feeling aboout him" Brooke says and bumps my arm

"when did you get here?" I ask and look down at her in her light blue peplum dress and black wedges, even though everyone else around her was wearing black.

"Baby, i'm always here" she says playfully with a smile

i laugh and see jace comming over, he smiles and takes my hand.

"It's time" he says and pulls me along with him to the front of the crowd.

My mom streatches out her hand to me, i take it and she leads me to the circle made of magnolias. she placed me in the middle of the circle and kissed my forehaed then placed a hand on my cheek before she left. i recited the words that was taught to me when i was thirteen to the moon then heared my moms voice chanting.

"Luna au nina, shavolet te muoi" Over and over again until i saw the moon and then my reflection in it.

"Earth, wind, and sky, sun and moon let them become one" i hear my dad say

My bones started to shift, it was the most painful thing i will ever experience. the bones in both my legs snapped, reshaped themselves to make new ones. i fell to the ground and screamed, my bones in my arms broke and streatched to make new ones, the bones in my face shifted and streatched i screamed so loud i thought my throat would bleed any minute. my dress was nothing more than peices of fabric on the ground beneath me i lay there whimpering in my new wolf form, panting, trying not to inflict more pain on myself than i already went through. When the pain finally stopped i slowly got up and turned around to face the wolves behind me. I looked at my parents and they bowed, then i looked at everyone else and they bowed down too. The excitement ran through me, i looked around with my new wolf eyes and then i let out a howl of excitement at the moon. then everyone joined in and we all howled at the moon three times all with me starting them. I am finally Alpha.  Now all i need is a mate?
