Chapter 11
It was funny to watch the five of us hanging out. At first it was only during lunch and now we were always together, not that it was a bad thing; Pete and Owen were really nice and fun, Owen not so fun, but nice. I was more than happy to have them around, especially now that Seth and Kim have been working on the restaurant after school. A couple of weeks ago Owen and I agreed to be just friends, but now I was missing his lips, his body, his touch... everything. It was hard to control myself around him but I was doing a great job controlling my hormones and just like Pete, Owen seemed to forget about me too; there must be something wrong with me.
I tried to pay attention to what Kim was saying but I was focused on Owen who was sitting so close to me, his body radiated so much heat and his smell was intoxicating and erotic. He was driving me crazy and I wanted him so bad, but I was the one who asked for his ‘friendship’ in the first place. What was happening to me? I turned into some crazy sex addict, but sex addict was kind of a strong word considering I’ve only had sex with one guy before and just a couple of times, but there was something about Owen that just freaked me out and made me desire every inch of his body. That was it! I needed to speak about this with someone otherwise it’d drive me crazy.
“Ouch!” I shouted in surprised and rubbed my forehead. “Seth, why did you do that?”
“Do you want dessert?” He asked nonchalantly, ignoring my death glare.
“You know that look doesn’t scare anyone.” Pete said with that sexy grin, he really had the most amazing smile; he was one of those people that could light up a room just with one simple smile. I couldn’t help but smile, it was contagious.
“You don’t look intimidating at all. You look funny.” Owen added his two cents and laughed lightly. I decided to ignore him.
“I don’t want dessert, I’m full.” I said a little sad, I absolutely loved their strawberry cheesecake. Why did I eat that much?
“We can share one. I know how much you like the cheesecake.” Pete offered and I couldn’t resist. I nodded excitedly. I looked at Owen while the waitress took our order and he looked annoyed, but he quickly replaced it with a smirk. Talking about weird, I definitely don’t understand men behavior. I decided to ignore it and returned my attention to something else, but I caught Seth’s eyes, he was smiling deviously; he looked at Owen and then back at me. Did he know something? No, maybe I was just imagining things. Finally our desserts came and Pete ate almost all the cheesecake, but I was more than satisfied this time so I didn’t fight it. We hanged at the restaurant a little more and then headed home.
“Tonight was great.” Kim said during our ride home, it was only us in her car.
“It was fun. I missed spending time with you and Seth; now that you two are working I don’t see you that much.”
“It’s true, maybe we should do something next weekend.”
“That’s a great idea and we can invite Sammy too.” I said happily. I was so tired of school and all the crying and screaming of the baby; I needed to get out of my house.
“I heard she and Damon broke up, is she alright?” Kim asked concerned.
“Yeah, she’s fine. They didn’t have a regular girlfriend/boyfriend relationship. The way I see it, they were like friends with benefits.” I explained. Sammy seemed perfectly fine about the whole thing, they were still good friends.
“Really? And I always thought they were so madly in love.” She paused for a second. “Those types of relationships never end up good, but I’m glad she’s fine.” Kim smiled sheepishly.
