Chapter 7: Mr. MOB

Mr MOB means Man Over Board and is used in cruises. Once it happened on a cruise I was on.

July 2st, 12 days until the Ball [noon]

Mr. Iddle wanted to bring his dog, Rex, aboard a luxurious cruise around France, but was told not to. Mr. Iddle didn't take no for an answer and snuck his dog on. The voyage started in the north and went south. A few days into the voyage, the ship docked in Paris. When Rex saw the lights of the Eiffel Tower, Rex started barking like crazy. It drew attention to all the guests and crew members. Mr. Iddle fought the security officers who were trying to take Rex away. Mr. Iddle lost and Rex was placed in a closed off room for caught stow-a-ways. Mr. Iddle wanted revenge for his dog being taken away from him because his dog was gift from his late wife. She died of cancer and gave her husband Rex as a good bye present. Mr. Iddle became Mr. MOB, a sea-octupus [what Ursula from the little mermaid is].  He started throwing passengers overboard. The Akuma is his pin, given to him by his late wife.

Now that you know the backround, we flash forwards to Adrien finding out about the attack.

"Hello Adrien." Gabriel Agreste said.

Adrien's father was over-worked and ever since his mother's death, never had time for Adrien. His assistant Natalie mostly took care of Adrien, and his bodyguard was named Gorilla. He never spoke.

"Hi Father." Adrien replied. Adrien was still in shock over what happened at midnight, his eyes red from crying.

"Natalie, will you please schedule Adrien's next photo shoot for 10pm on Independence Day, the fireworks will look great as a background for the photo shoot."

"Father, that won't work." Adrien quickly said.

Gabriel slowly turned to face his son.
"What?...why?!"
Adrien went quiet at Father's small raise in voice.

"Sir, Adrien is going to Masquerade Ball with his friends on Independence Day. It's an end-of-the-year celebration. Is there any other day that we can schedule the photo shoot?" Natalie said.

"A Ball?" Gabriel said, his eyes widened. He looked over at Adrien, who wasn't touching any of his food. The Ball was the last thing he wanted to think about, Mari's secret kept pecking at his brain.

"Yes." Adrien replied. His Father's expression was a new one. 

"Who are you going with? Is this Masquerade Ball going to have dancing?"

Adrien was unsure what to say. He was going with Marinette, but couldn't say that because Marinette is going with Chat Noir.  And with the latest news, he is not sure she can face her at school on Monday.

"Well Nino is going with Alya, so I was planning to go with Marinette as friends, but she's going with Chat Noir"

Gabriel almost spit out his coffee.

"So i'm going to be hanging around with them."
Adrien finished. His head tilted down.

"Marinette..." Gabriel started "the girl you're friends with, is going with Chat Noir?"

Adrien didn't want to talk about this. He wanted to just act like he never found out about Mari's secret but he knew he couldn't. Adrien nodded silently to his fathers question.
