July 3rd, 11 Days until the Ball [Mid-day]
"For the last time Alya, I'm fine." Marinette said.
Alya went to Marinette house to wheel her to school for the second half of the day. They were outside he school. Marinette just took some really strong painkillers so she wouldn't be in pain during school. She was a tiny bit tipsy. Her wheelchair was black. The was a special pocket on the side for Marinette's books.
"You could have died, girl!" Alya exclamined! "I'm not letting you out of my site until you're better!"
"Thanks."
"Anyway, there's something I want to talk to you about before class. I got some footage from security cameras to try to find out who Ladybug and Chat Noir are."
Marinette almost jumped out of her seat.
"You got what?!? Do you know their identities?!" Marinette freaked. She started to fidget this her head. Putting one hand on top of her head, the other on her chin.
"Yes. And I can't believe I never noticed...all I have to say is...."
Alya went in front of the wheelchair and bent down to Marinette's height, smiling
"You owe me an interview, Ladybug!" Alya beamed.
"Eeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrppppp..." Marinette flustered.
"Uhhhh....uhhhh.......how?" Her head started banging.
"The footage showed that you had to be Ladybug also I found out who Chat Noir is too! Can you believe it?! Adrien! And Chat likes Ladybug and you like Adrien so you like each other!! It's perfect! My otp is finally happening." She shrieked.
Marinette hesitated before she spoke, "well actually, Alya, Adrien he-he doesn't like me."
"But he likes-"
"I know who he likes, Alya... and it's not me."
Alya sighed. "I'm sorry Mari. I really thought that everything would fall into place."
"Well," Marinette said, as they went up the elevator to the classroom "I will heal. I have more important things on my mind, like my injuries..., and what's going to happen with the Ball..." she rested her head on her arm. She was a bit dizzy.
"The ball! Omg. Is Adrien still going with you? What's happening with that? Have you spoken to him?"
"I don't know. I don't know. And no." Marinette replied.
They walked into class. Everyone but Chloé, Sabrina, Adrien, and their teacher was already there. Waiting to see Marinette. As Nino helped Alya move Marinette's wheelchair up the step, the class crowded around the desk.
"Marinette!" The class called.
"Are you okay?" Rose asked.
"I heard, how'd it happened?" Alex asked.
"When will you get better?" Mylene chimed.
"What happened during surgery?" asked Max.
Marinette's head darted from one person to the next as the questions increased.
"I-I- I'm fine-"
"No she isn't." Alya interrupted. "She spines hurt, she was unconscious, she had open heart surgery and abdominal surgery! Thank god she's alive!"
"Alya!" Marinette groaned.
Questions continued to pull up, Adrien arrived and while he was very, very nervous about speaking to Mari, he helped answer questions alongside Alya, Nino, and Mari. Tikki and Plagg was in his bag, waiting for the right time for Tikki to go the Mari.
A few minutes before class started ( the teacher still wasn't there) Chloé and Sabrina walked in. They haven't heard what happened to Marinette. Chloé scoffed at the attention Marinette was getting.
"Why's everyone crowding around her?" She complained to Sabrina, in her whining voice.
Sabrina shrugged.
Chloé rolled her eyes and shouted. "Hey Marinette, has Chat Noir turned you down yet? He's never going to go with a lame, shy schoolgirl. " She and Sabrina laughed at the stupid joke
The class became as silent as a hunter hunting its prey. The people that blocked Chloé and Sabrina from seeing Marinette in her wheelchair moved out of the way.
Sabrina gasped.
Chloé stood there eyes wide, "ugh, what happened to you?" She said in a grossly manner.
Alya was about to start screaming at Chloé but Marinette spook before she could. She got louder and spoke each word with more force.
"What happened to me? I had surgery; I fell unconscious; I bled out; I almost died; I barely survived. " she paused as she took a deep breath. Tears were flowing down her cheek. "But I did. "
The class stood in awkward silence. Marinette still crying, Alya comforting her. The drugs made her a bit emotional.
The teacher walked in a minute after. Class begun. Class ended. Nothing happened then. Tikki got back to Marinette. They headed home. Alya took Marinette home and talked to Tikki about past Ladybugs. There was 9 past Ladybugs and Chat Noirs, 10 counting Mari and Adrien. Tikki said a few things about each, except the New World heros. The story of them still remain hidden. But not for long.
