                                                    11 days

She paced back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. It made me nauseous. This wasn't Grayson's fault, but I knew as much as he did; this would definitely be pinned on him. He would be blamed for the fight, even worse so that he technically wasn't even legally allowed on the premises the fight occurred on. He would be in trouble for drug possession when they weren't even his - no doubt, he probably did have his own, but he'd have never brought it to Scarlet's  birthday...it was supposed to be perfect.

And now what? Scarlet started to fear her older brother? With him not being around much Steve is able to plant the idea of Grayson being the bad guy?

"Can you just stand still?!" I snapped, squeezing my eyes shut and leaning my head back against the wall.

"Sorry" she  sighed and sat beside me. "It's just - Alex had two packets because of me. What if I got him in even more trouble?" Tears brimmed her eyes and I let out a heavy sigh, rubbing her back soothingly.

I guess Alex and his clan of bad boys had rubbed off on Max, to an extent, but they really couldn't take the good girl out of Max Carrington, that much was proven correct.

Supposedly it was true then, all bad boys needed a good girl.

Once upon a time, I guess I'd have classed myself as a good girl, but with all this scheming, I just didn't know anymore. So the question stood, If I'm no longer a good girl, because of Grayson Ledger himself, am I not the one he needs?

"Max, Alex would have gotten into trouble anyway, he just prevented you from being dragged into it. He'll be okay, they all will. If I  know anything about these boys it's that they always get away with it" She chuckled, shaking her head as she wiped at her tear stained cheeks.

"Thank you for being here for Grayson. He really likes you, I know you might not be inclined to think so, but he really is a good guy" She told me, I nodded in agreement.

"I know. He just does bad things sometimes. " She agreed and the doors swung open.

"God! Jace has got to stop using me as his one phone call! When will he understand it's over?" Tara Morris, whom I'd met only once, strutted in, her fire like hair dancing in the wind caused by the doors behind her.

"Why do you show up every time?" Max grinned, jumping up and embracing Tara.

"Oh shit, it's you." Her attention turned to me. "He roped you in huh?" she chuckled and I did the same.

She turned back to Max. "because I can't just leave him stranded in a jail cell and he knows that." Tara let out an exaggerated huff of annoyance.

"He misses you." Max lowered her voice, like it hurt that Tara wasn't around anymore and added "We all do."

Tara gave a heartfelt smile, but her eyes were sad "me too." She took a moment to recompose herself and when she spoke again, the emotion was gone and replaced with agitation."Okay so what did these boneheads do this time."

While Max explained to Tara the events of tonight, I could no longer take it. I stormed up to the desk, slammed my hands down on my side of the glass and gave the lady my most daring glare that I liked to think said 'Don't even think of pissing me off lady!' "It's 1AM! We have been here all night. I demand to see Grayson Ledger!"

"I'm sorry miss, he can't take visitors right now. Please take a seat and we will let you know as soon as you can see him." She repeated her over rehearsed line in a monotone voice, not bothering to look up from her computer screen as she clicked here and there.
