GAME DAY

I wish I could tell you that last night I couldn't sleep a wink because I felt so incredibly wrong about what would take place today, but I'd be lying. Miraculously, I told myself this was what was supposed to happen, shut my eyes and woke to my alarm refreshed and ready for today's events...sort of.

Well, it was almost true, except my thoughts raced from the moment my eyes opened, though I was not tired, thousands of emotions flooded through me. I was nervous, scared, nauseated, excited, vengeful.

At 8:25, my phone dinged, like it did every morning since I'd became involved with Grayson Ledger, but today's text wasn't 'Good Morning Baby Doll' or 'Sleep well sweet cheeks?'

Today s went more like this:

'Good Morning gorgeous! I again, apologize for not being able to pick you up today, but I have to get ready for the big game. I can't wait to see you, I'm so nervous for the game! This may be the longest text I've ever sent, I'm babbling. Sorry, Nerves and all. Have a wonderful day baby x'

Something commonly known as guilt lurched in the pit of my stomach making me want to hurl, but instead, I swallowed, picked up my bag and made my way downstairs where my mum waited with a coffee, ushering me into the car.

Mum chattered in my ear the whole ride to school, but I couldn't concentrate, I really wondered if I had the balls to do what I needed to. I thought back to every horrid thing Grayson had done to me, to others and then I took out my phone, clicked Julian's' contact and punched in two words 'IT'S ON.'

~~~
Up until lunch it was a blur, I hadn't realized I was constantly deep in thought until Isabel clicked her fingers in front of my face for the third time in twenty minutes, an irritated expression contorting her features.
"God" she rolled her eyes. "What is up with you today?"
Pushing at my untouched dinner tray, I slouched back into the chair. "Sorry, just thinking about the game tonight."
She bit into her muffin, chewing slowly. "So who will you cheer for tonight? Mr. Sexy badass boyfriend and his sexy badass friends...or Will, he's obviously still into you."
"I don't think it would go down well with Gray if I didn't cheer for him...and Will and I are friends, I think he likes you." I assured her, though I wasn't entirely convincing myself he was totally over me.
"Maybe" She shrugged, picking up her bag and swinging it over her shoulder. "See you tonight?"
I nodded an agreement, picking up my bag and making my way to class a few minutes early.
~~~

The moment the bell signalling the end of the day rang, I leaped from my seat and out the classroom door despite Sir's objections. I hurried to my locker, collected my things  and raced outside.

"Good luck on the game tonight, Will!" I called as I rushed past him and towards Julian's parked car of which he stood in front of.

I vaguely heard Will yell a 'thanks', but my mind was elsewhere. I practically jumped into Julian's arms, embracing him in a tight hug.

Back at my house, Julian sat on my bed as I perfected my make up, outfit and hair. When I thought I looked great, I turned, flashed a smirk that I was beginning to feel comfortable wearing and said "How do I look? Vengeful?"

Julian sat up, rubbing his hands together and plastering on a similar facial expression. "Like revenge itself; powerful, sexy and a little scary."

Julian and I arrived at the athletic grounds fifteen minutes before the game was set to start. The schools were divided up on either side of the pitch, Ryan High on the furthest stands, West Vale High the closest.
