LEYLA

As soon as I said that, he fainted making him fall onto the sand. I stood up and brushed the sand off my clothes, glancing at him worryingly. He must have hit himself on the head that he thought that he was a merman. That's definitely true.

He acted as if he was scared of me but it might be something else. I have things to do than just stay here and wait for something that's most likely not going to happen.

I bit my lip and thought for a moment, hesitating if I should help him or at least try to make sure that he's alive. I must have frightened to the point where he thought that I was going to hurt him or possibly kill him.

I walked towards him and knelt down on my knees beside him. I checked his pulse and sighed in relief once I knew that he's heart was still beating. I held his shoulder and shook it rapidly while yelling at him to wake up.

"HEY! WAKE UP! WAKE UP, SLEEPING BEAUTY! JUST WAKE UP!" As soon as I placed my mouth near his ear and yelled at him, he jolted up awake. Good thing he woke up or else I would have kissed this sleeping beauty.

His eyes widened when he saw me. He turned pale as soon as he caught a glimpse of me. A terrified scream erupted from his mouth. He stood up and walked backwards, glancing at me, frightened.

Is there something or someone behind me? Does my face look terrifying? Do I look that bad? I glanced at him, confused. I raised an eyebrow, expecting him to tell me what's wrong.

"Eh, is there something wrong?" I asked. As soon as I spoke, his face turned pale and his hands trembled with fear shown in his eyes.

He didn't reply. He just stood there, backing away. "H-How did you managed to get passed the barrier?" he stuttered, his hands still shaking from fear. The way he looked at me bothered me. It was as if I'm a serial killer that was about to kill him.

I smiled awkwardly, trying not to scare him even more. As soon as I did that, he froze with his expression even way worse than before. "Hey, it's okay. You don't have to be afraid of me. I'm harmless, " I said.

He looked at me in disbelief and shook his head, still trembling in fear. "Can you hurt someone? Can you kill? If yes, then you're not harmless," he replied making me frown. Well, he has a point.

I just stared at him, not knowing what to say. He clearly has a point. That's no lie. He bit his lip and avoided my glance, still trembling in fear. I don't know if I should be happy that someone is finally afraid of me and is scared to even take advantage of me.

Or maybe, he's just playing with me. Maybe, all of this act is just a joke. Maybe, he kne wthat I was naive so he took it as an opportunity to play pranks on me. Who on earths would believe someone who claims to be a mythical being that doesn't exist? Who? Children.
