Harrison recovered fully and quickly. Just two weeks after being shot and requiring surgery, he was back on his feet resuming normal activities.
This morning he woke with Leia's head on his right hand that lay by his side. Carrie lay on his left side with her head rested on his shoulder, an arm thrown across his body, and one of her legs draped over his.
When he woke, she was already awake and looking very comfortable. "Comfortable huh?"
"Very," she whispered back with a small smile. "Morning Harry."
After pulling his right hand out from underneath the dogs head, he leaned towards Carrie to kiss her. "Morning sweetheart."
They kissed again, this time Harrison rolled over so his weight was all on her. "Harrison."
"You missed this huh?"
She nodded, flipping him over so she sat on his stomach. Finding the spot where his stitches had once been, she ran her fingers over it. "You better not scare me like that again. Ever again. Are we clear?" She asked with a smile.
"Yes ma'am. Although I can't make any promises."
"Well get ready to make one."
Harrison laced his fingers with hers, squeezing her hands gently. "I promise."
"You know I'm going to hold you to it."
"I know. But I promise I won't almost die like that ever again."
"You better be serious."
He pushed a few loose hairs back behind her ears. "I'm not going anywhere for a long time."
With that being said, she allowed him to flip her onto her back. Carrie wrapped her arms and legs around him as he kissed her. Just as he deepened the kiss, Leia jumped back on their bed, knocking Harrison to her side.
She leaned against Carrie rather hard, and demanded she be pet. "Alright, I'll pet you."
Leia then jumped over Carrie to land on Harrison. He immediately pushed her back towards Carrie, and she settled for laying in the space between them. "You're something else," Harrison muttered.
Carrie laughed hearing that. When Leia turned her head to face him and gave him the puppy dog eyes, Harrison couldn't help a smile. "You're really something else."
She licked him. "Good girl. You get him."
After licking Harrison, Leia laid her head on his chest with her tongue hanging out. "Oh Leia."
Harrison leaned over their dog to kiss Carrie, as they had been doing before they were interrupted. They were once again interrupted. As they kissed, Leia gave them a wet, slobbery kiss.
"Ew Leia!"
That wasn't Carrie, but her husband. She laughed. "Wuss."
"You wanna fight?" He teased.
"Sure. I didn't have a problem beating you last time."
Harrison bit his lip. "That's what I thought."

Later that afternoon, Carrie made Harrison get some exercise. Whether it was going for a run with her or working out in the basement, she told him he needed it.
So Harrison decided to play catch with her and the kids in the backyard. He loved playing catch with Carrie. It was something they'd been doing since they first met.
"Go dad!"
Adam threw the football over his fathers head, forcing him to run for it. He got within inches of the ball, feeling it as it bounced off his fingertips and onto the grass.
"That was slow."
He picked the ball up and threw it in the direction of the comment. Right at his wife. She jumped up, catching the ball above her head with two hands.
"Come on you can run faster than that."
"I haven't run in two weeks!"
"I don't care. I know you can run faster than that. Now go long."
He did as told, running through the backyard, waiting for her to throw the ball. Billie ran after her father and raced him to the ball. Carrie took a step and launched the ball. He and Billie kept going as the ball flew over their heads. Carrie had quite the arm.
When it finished it's arc and descended downward, Billie swatted it away from her father. But with the swat, it still bounced into Harrison's hands.
"How was that Carrie?" He asked as he ran the ball back.
"It was a little better."
After that, the kids and their parents decided to have a little game of two hand touch. It was Carrie, Billie, and Adam versus Harrison, Ben, and Emma.
Carrie and her team were on offense. The best part of the game was playing defense on Harrison and having him play defense on her. It was quite an accomplishment to get open with him covering her, since that was his job all those years ago. And he still was pretty damn good at it.
Billie was playing quarterback. Adam and Carrie were receivers while Harrison and Emma covered them with Ben covering Billie after 10 seconds.
"Let's see what you got," he teased, nearing the line of scrimmage.
"You're going to see what I got."
Billie snapped the ball and Carrie shot down the backyard. The entire time, Harrison had her well covered. She tried to run a slant but he was on her the entire time. So Billie settled for passing it to Adam, who gained a little bit before he was tagged by his sister.
The next play, Carrie outsmarted the linebacker. Instead of running a Hail Mary, she stopped and did a curl route. Harrison was totally fooled. She caught the pass from Billie and turned right into him.
"Look at that babe."
"I'll step it up."
Carrie juked him out once more before they scored a touchdown. She pushed the ball against his chest as she walked by. "Beat that."
When he was on offense, she jumped at the opportunity to guard him. Once Emma shouted, "go," they both took off.
She threw it over her fathers head. As husband and wife ran for the ball, they were stopped by a brown object that they realized was Leia. They both flipped over her as the chocolate lab scooped up the ball between her teeth.
Carrie looked over her shoulder to see how Harrison fared. He was laying on his stomach. Immediately, she thought he'd hurt himself. But when she rolled him over, he was laughing.
"Harry!"
She playfully slapped his chest. He helped her up, and together they ran back for another play.
