It didn't matter that Harrison was out for the rest of the season, since the Cowboys lost the divisional round.
He came upstairs after taking the kids to school to see his wife still laying in bed, asleep. "Well good morning sweetheart," he whispered laying next to her.
Harrison kissed her cheek gently, trailing the kisses down her neck until she woke up. "Hey," she whispered, smiling at the sight of him leaning over her.
"What are you smiling about?" She asked, running her fingers through his hair and pushing his hat off.
"I-"
"Wait, where's B?"
"B?"
"Our daughter Billie?"
"Oh, she's with your mom downstairs."
"Now tell me, what are you smiling about?"
Harrison shifted so he lay next to her with his head resting on his hand. "Nike extended my endorsement."
"They did?"
His smile grew the widest Carrie had seen all morning. "I'm going to get my own line of cleats!"
She was shocked. This was a big step up from his last endorsement. Previously, he was paid to wear Nike apparel in games such as cleats, and be in their commercials or magazines, but now he got his own cleat line.
"That's amazing! Do you have to go to Oregon to design them?"
"No they're coming here."
"How much will you be paid?"
"A lot sweetheart," he whispered, kissing her. "A lot."
Carrie joined Billie, Harrison and Debbie downstairs a few minutes later. "Momma!"
"Hey B."
Little Billie smiled as her mommy scooped her up. "What'd grandma Debbie make you for breakfast?"
She pointed to the French toast sitting on the counter. "So you had grandma's French toast?"
Billie nodded, as Carrie held her against her hip, getting some French toast for herself. "Now I know where you get your mad cooking skills from sweetheart," Harrison whispered, going back to get seconds.
"Thanks for watching her mom," Carrie said as she took a seat at the kitchen table with Billie on her lap.
"You know I'd watch them anytime."
"I know mom. And you don't know how happy they are to go to grandmas."
Debbie smiled. "Grandma and Gary sure love having them over."
"Isn't that right Gary?" Carrie asked, seeing her French bulldog laying on the floor with his tongue sticking out.
Gary lived with both Debbie and Carrie. Some nights he'd be over at Debbie's or others he'd be with Carrie and the kids. Whenever they couldn't find Gary, it was 'he's at moms,' or 'he's at Carrie's.'
"Well I'll be over later," Debbie said, getting up. "Do you want me to pick the kids up from school?"
Carrie shrugged. "If you want, I don't mind."
"I will."
"Alright thanks mom."
She joined Harrison on the couch with Billie a few minutes later. "Hey princess," he whispered, taking Billie.
