Chapter 8 - Natalie's P.O.V

"Did you hear?"

"Both of them!"

"She's awesome!"

"I can't believe she'd do that to her own best friend."

"Noah so deserved it."

"Poor Noah!"

"How has he not killed her yet?"

"She's a freaking genius!"

I did my best to hide my amusement as I walked down the hall, listening to people's conversations. Most were about the prank I pulled on Noah and Margo, and I have to admit it was one of my better ideas.

"Natalie!" Someone called out and I spun around to see Matt jogging up to me, "Hey."

"Hey," I gave him a smile.

He smiled back, "So, is it true you inked Hall and your best friend?"

I sighed, "Yes and no. They both got inked, but I don't feel bad about inking her because she asked him out even though she knows how much of a pain in the ass he's been to me."

Matt chuckled, "Girls are always so..."

"Sassy, bitchy, confusing?" I offered him.

"I was gonna say devious, but you said it, not me," He answered. I laughed. "So, are you busy this Friday?"

I shook my head, "No, why?"

He smiled, "I was hoping you'd like to go out on another date with me."

"Okay," I nodded, "Sounds fun. What are we doing?"

"It's a surprise," He told me, "I'll pick you up at seven."

We parted ways and I made my way to the locker room and changed for gym, walking out and into the gym just as the bell rang.

"That was a close call, Miss Brooks," Coach Henson called out as I sat on the bleachers next to my friends.

I smiled, "I pride myself on that."

He cracked a smile before setting down his clipboard and clapping his hands together, "Alright! Who's up for some volleyball?"

We all cheered.

Splitting up in our usual teams, we took the court and got in formation. Taking the ball, I threw it up and hit it, sending it flying over the net. Olivia was quick to pass it back over and I switched to the front, spiking it down at Margo. She yelped and the ball hit her in the mouth. Almost immediately, she started sobbing.

Coach Henson groaned and helped her up, walking her out of the gym and most likely to the nurse's office.

"That was a beautiful hit, Nat!" Logan called, smirking as he clapped me on the back. I shrugged. In all honesty? I felt bad about being so mean to the girl. But at the same time, a part of me on the inside was so glad she was getting what she deserved.

Dylan, Kate and Olivia agreed with Logan.

Coach Henson walked back in and blew his whistle, "Alright, let's continue!"

I served the ball again and this time it was Dylan to pass it over. Logan passed it to me, I set it up, and he spiked it down, hitting an empty space on the floor with an echoing sound. I cheered and gave him a high-five, laughing.

The doors to the gym were thrown open loudly and everyone glanced over, but did a double take when they saw the one and only Noah Hall strutting in.
