Chapter 34 - Natalie's P.O.V

I huffed, folding my arms over my chest as I was sandwiched in between Olivia and Margo, Kate squishing against the door on Margo's other side. The boys were up front, Logan driving. We were going to the mall to go dress shopping despite all of my protests of I could run out and go get one the day of. I was immediately smacked and silenced by Kate.

Once we finally arrived to the mall (the 30 minute drive was torture for all four of us girls squished in the back), we stumbled out, earning a strange look from an older woman carrying bags to her car next to ours. I offered a weak smile to her and she glared at me. Man, old people were mean.

The girls dragged the boys and I from store to store and I tried on dresses here and there, but none of them really seemed to be good. They were either to slutty, expensive or looked awful on me.

I groaned as we took the escalator up to the third and final floor. Everyone else had already gotten everything they needed and I said I'd just re-wear last year's dress, but apparently not an option "especially because you're going with Noah", Olivia had clicked her tongue at me.

However it did scare me that every time I tried on a new dress, I'd ask myself  "Would Noah like this?".  I was definitely not okay with those thoughts going through my head.

"Alright, so there are two more stores possible to find you something in," Margo clapped her hands. Shopping was her area of expertise, along with Kate. Olivia was more of a fashion guru than a shopper, though. And me? I preferred to stay home and watch Netflix all night while procrastinating doing my homework, but no; I had to stay here and shop for a dress that I didn't want for a night that I was only slightly looking forward to now.

Kate nodded at Margo, "Right. So, let's start over there."

She pointed to a small local boutique and I sighed, but nodded nonetheless as we went in, the boys trailing behind us and carrying everything. Honestly, they were such good sports throughout all of this.

We stepped into the boutique and greeted rather unhappily by an employee before I was ordered to go and look for "the one".

Begrudgingly, I ventured through the store, every once in a while picking up a dress and then putting it back down. All three of the girls came at me with arms filled with dresses at once, ordering me to try them on. Sighing, I did as told, slipping on dress after dress and wrinkling my nose at every single one.

Red, navy, black, white, purple, pink -- they were all awful.

Pulling back on my regular clothes, I hung all of the dresses back up, taking one final lap around the store. A glimmer caught my eye and I paused, pulling a dress off of the rack that was hidden behind a hideous, puffy yellow gown.

Taking it into the changing room, I slipped it on, smoothing it out as I looked in the mirror. It was a little long, but the length wouldn't matter once I was wearing heels.

The dress was a baby blue color all the way through. It was floor length with a strapless sweetheart neckline. Around the bust there were silver jewels and lace. I smiled as I continued looking at myself; it was the first dress I had tried on that I actually liked--no-- loved

Stepping out of the changing room, I heard a gasp and looked to see Kate with a hand over her mouth, "It's gorgeous! I don't know how we missed it!"

I blushed as I saw the guys staring at me, "You look great, Nat."

That was Dylan.

"You're getting it, end of discussion!" Olivia snapped and I laughed, walking back into the changing room to take it off. I put it back on the hanger and carried it over to the cashier, paying for it and then heading out.

"All we need are shoes and a mask!" Margo exclaimed.

"I already have shoes at home that'll go with this," I informed her, "so just a mask."

She pouted but agreed nonetheless- honestly, these girls were going to kill me with the amount of shopping they wanted to do.

We entered the mask store which was (kill me now) back on the first floor, where I found the perfect mask. It was silver lace and seemed as though it were made just for the dress. I quickly bought it before anyone else could snatch it and we headed out of the mall, finally.

All I wanted to do was go home and eat food now.

"So, pizza anyone?" Dylan asked from the passenger seat.

We all shouted a unanimous "yes" and he cringed before calling it in.

I had been right, though-- shopping for dresses was most definitely one of the worst things a girl has to go through.

A/N: How'dy! Here's a little filler chapter :3 picture of the dress to the side! And you can just imagine the mask because I can't get it on here lol.
