Chapter 7 - Natalie's P.O.V
"Natalie!" Kate and Olivia shrieked, running down the hallway with the same expressions on their faces.
Fear.
Closing my locker, I gave them a questioning look, "What?"
Olivia answered my question, "Margo. She took us seriously. She asked out Noah Hall."
"What!?" I shouted, making everyone turn and look at me.
"Ever see a girl before?" Kate snapped, and they all looked away immediately.
I sighed, running a finger through my straight hair, "I don't believe this. Well, actually Margo asking him I can sort of make sense if I thought like her, but him saying yes? I just don't get it."
Kate nodded, "Tell me about it. And they're totally disgusting. It's PDA central around them."
"Not to mention, it's buzzing around like crazy," Olivia added, "And I don't think we should talk to her. She could be helping Noah to prank you. He might be playing an angle."
"Good thinking," I told her, letting out a breath I had been holding.
My friends both glared behind me and Olivia clicked her tongue, "Speak of the devil."
Noah Hall and Margo were walking down the middle of the hall, his arm over her shoulder as he whispered something into her ear, Margo giggling like a school girl. I nearly puked all over them. He pulled away from her ear and looked up, scanning the hallway and stopped when he met my eyes. Like it hadn't been bad enough he'd stolen my friend, the little punk had the balls to wink at me!
Who does that? Someone, please tell me; who winks at their worst enemy when their arm is around their enemy's friend's shoulder? You know what, never mind. That's too confusing to wrap my head around.
"What the hell is going on here?" Logan asked, coming up next to us along with Dylan.
I spoke with a casual voice, "Haven't you heard? Hell froze over."
They all laughed. Even I managed to let out a soft chuckle. We made our way to class, and we sat down, filling in Margo's spot, which left the desk next to Noah empty.
How perfect for the newest couple.
Keeping an eye on the door, I pulled out a blue-ink pen from my purse. Turning to Dylan, I smiled and ordered him, "Watch my back and the door."
Walking over to Noah's desk, I left the pen there, and made my way back to my seat, flattening out my hair and jumping into the conversation with my friends about the pros and cons about siblings. Kind of a strange topic for eight in the morning, don't you think?
Noah and Margo walked in, an adoring expression on her face, a slightly annoyed one on his. Instantly, I became smug, but did well to hide it.
My chair was kicked out from under me and I fell on my butt, letting out a huff. Most of the class laughed, a couple asked if I was okay. Standing up, I glared at Noah Hall, who had kicked the leg of my chair.
He smiled at me, twirling the pen with his fingers.
Getting back on my chair, I continued our conversation, "Did I tell you guys Nate's back?"
"No shit, for real!?" Dylan exclaimed.
"Language, Mr. Kane!" The teacher shrieked. He rolled his eyes.
I nodded, "Yeah, we've been hanging out lately. We visited my Gram together."
"How's she doing?" Olivia asked gently.
"She's doing, okay I guess," I answered, "The doctors say a month is all she has left."
Logan frowned, "We should all go visit her."
Smiling, I agreed, "Yeah, she'd love that."
We were cut off by a loud pop.
I spun around in my seat, to see a shocked Noah and Margo, both covered in blue ink. A moment of complete silence before everyone began cracking up, laughing hysterically. And yes, that included my circle of friends and myself.
Once the shock was gone, Noah glared at me like there was no tomorrow, "Natalie I swear to god--"
"Mr. Hall! Ms. Cross! What on Earth do you think you're doing, disturbing my class like that? Both of you, to the principal's office! Now!" The teacher shrieked and I mentally skipped around with glee. When the two left, the stressed educator rushed out to find a janitor.
Kate spun around in her seat, smiling, "I love you so so so so much!"
I laughed, "I really didn't mean to hit Margo, though. I feel kind of bad."
"Don't be," Olivia shrugged it off, "She deserved it. She's, like, sleeping with the enemy or something like that."
Logan laughed, this time, "Liv, that was perfect."
She smirked, "Thanks little bro."
"You're older by a minute!" He exclaimed, and she just rolled her eyes at him.
Dylan interjected, "Technically, that still makes her older and you younger."
He received a glare, "Shut up."
"You know, shut up is pretty harsh," Kate told Logan as if to scold him. He didn't roll his eyes at her, just mumbled to himself. His ears turned pink, but no one else really noticed as the teacher stormed back in and we all turned around.
Kate and Logan? No way. Well, maybe.
In the middle of the lesson, I elbowed Logan when no one was looking and he glared at me. Rolling my eyes, I nodded my head toward Kate with an eyebrow raised. He blushed and I smiled, nodding as if to approve the couple. He shoved me and I continued taking notes before we got yelled at.
The bell rang, ending the class and Dylan sidled up next to me as I walked down the hall, "What were you and Logan talking about?"
"Nothing," I answered too quickly.
He raised an eyebrow, "Really?"
I sighed, "I'm sensing a new couple."
"Who!?" He exclaimed.
Clamping a hand over his mouth, I shushed him, "Quiet! And I'm thinking Kate and Logan."
Dylan nodded, "Oh yeah, I can totally see it."
Looking down the hall, I saw Margo standing at her locker, looking in her mirror and trying to get blue ink off of her.
"Hey, Kate and Liv are right-- she deserved it," He assured me.
I nodded, "Yeah. Yeah, she did deserve it."
"She's a backstabbing whore," Dylan said loudly in a feminine voice as we passed her locker, making her look up.
I slapped his arm, "No need to be that mean!"
He shrugged and played it off innocently, "I have no idea what you're talking about."
"You're an idiot," I shoved him down the hall.
Dylan smiled, "That's me!"
As we passed the office, I caught the eye of a very angry Noah Hall.
