4 Practice Time!

"Pay close attention, Kat. This one is yours!" Dave skated out to the center of the rink. He pressed the play button on his remote and the song started to Karkat's On Love: Agape. 
As I watched Dave skate, I thought of what he had said before about the routine. 

"Agape: It's unconditional love. Parent or family love. Infinite and self-sacrifice. You can't get rid of it." 

Geez, this is a tough routine. Dave's pulling it off perfectly, but how can Karkat pull it off? He's a great skater, but that was specially choreographed as a Strider routine. How is Karkat going to be better than it? 

Dave ended the routine and paused the music, "So, what do you think, Kat? You got it?" 

"Boring, but I got it. No problem." 

HOW CAN HE SAY THAT SO CALMLY?! That was a difficult routine!! 

"Wow, that was amazing." Rose said and was clapping from the side of the rink. Jade was doing the same thing, standing beside her. Exactly how long have they been standing right there?? 
"Hey, get out of here!" Karkat growled, "Who said you two can watch?" 
"Oh, this is Rose. She's the owner of the rink." I explained, "And I'm positive you've met my sister already." 

"I'm sorry, after hearing the triplets talk about the face off, I just couldn't help but try to sneak a peak at what will be happening." Rose grinned.
"That was really amazing. I hope you do well with it, Karkat." Jade giggled. 

"Uh, thanks?" 

"Pay attention!" Dave called out, "This one is all yours, John!" 
"Right! Of course!" I gave him my full undivided attention. I mean, I have to. It's a program choreographed just for me by Dave himself. 

The music started, and I... Oh my god. So... This is Eros... 

"This is On Love: Eros." Dave did an exotic move then flashed a smile in our direction. Jade got a bloody nose, nearly fainting and Rose turned red. 

"Eros," Dave chuckled, "Sexual love. It piles of layers of pleasure upon pleasure to the audience until they're drowning in ecstasy~" 

"Hey! Get up!" Karkat shouted at Jade, trying to wake her up. 
Oh lord, he's like sex on ice. So much, I think I might become pregnant if I watch him move like that any longer! 

I CAN'T SKATE THAT SEXILY!!!! 

"Well?" Dave ended, "What do you think Johnny?" A smirk was plastered onto his face, waiting for my response. 

"U-Uh! Oh! I- Uh! I-It was very Eros!!" 
"Hm, not the response I was expecting, but alright. Now composition, what quads can you land?" 
"I can do a toe loop. I can do the salchow in practice, but I've never landed it in a competition. B-But I can always try and see if it works out! What do you think?" 
"Just stick to practicing your fundamentals for now. I'm going to work with Kat first." 

"Huh?" Wait, what?  

"Why waste a day of practice trying to teach you something you can't do? Time is an important thing, yknow. Tell me, how many times have you choked during a competition? You have the skill to win, you've proven it to me already, but why can't you?" 
"Um," I looked down, twiddling my thumbs, "I guess I don't have a lot of confidence in my abilities..." 
"True. And that's what I'm here for. To help you find that confidence and embrace it in an infinite hug," He skated to me, lifted my head up with his finger placed under my chin. His thumb pressed against my bottom lip, "You haven't unleashed the eros within you. I know it's there inside you. It's just waiting to finally show its true colors. Can you show it to me?"
