The talk

*A few days later*
As I'm getting ready for the day, I hear a knock on the front door. I know Lane will grab it so I can finish getting ready.
As I'm finishing up my shower I hear the bathroom door open. I assume that it's Trevor or Lane letting Dancer into the bathroom with me until I hear someone mumble about it being foggy.
I recognize the voice instantly and groan.
I turn the shower off and slowly open the door and stick my head around the door.
I give Fraser an evil stare. "Fras, if your going to walk into my bathroom while I'm finishing my shower than at least hand me my towel." I tell him.
He grins at me and says. "Oh I thought we were getting a free show?"
I raise an eyebrow at him.
He nods and says, "Lachlan is in your room."
I roll my eyes and tell him that I'm going to blow dry my hair real quick.
He nods and leaves the bathroom.
I dry my hair and securely wrap my towel around myself. I walk out of my room and look at Lachlan.
I ask him, "Did you really have to let Fraser go in my bathroom?"
Lachlan shrugs his shoulders and says, "Well your out here now right?"
I give him a look and I notice movement out of the corner of my eye.
I quickly turn my head and say, "Out now! I don't need Cody's girlfriend accusing us of anything else since I'm standing in my room with a towel wrapped around me!"
Cody laughs and says, "Really, Star?"
I look at him and quickly tell the boys to get out! I'll talk to all of y'all downstairs.
I get dressed and head down the stairs and see the boys all sitting at the island.
Lane grins and says, "Hey the Australians and well Fraser are here."
I nod and say, "Oh really? So that's why they were in my room and interrupted my shower?"
Lane starts laughing and says, "Which one of y'all went into her bathroom?"
Fraser grins and raises his hand.
Lane says, "And she didn't beat you or anything? I'm surprised."
I say, "That's because I dried my hair and walked into my bedroom to find the other two. I'm being nice and letting y'all on practice bulls and y'all just all interrupt my quiet time."
Lachlan says, "At least your dressed now."
Lane spits out his drink and says, "Do what?!?! Starlee Annamarie you didn't walk out there naked did you?!?"
I shake my head no. "I did have a towel wrapped around me. It's a good thing too since Cody is here. We all know the crazy one would not be happy if she heard I walked in the room naked." I tell him.
Cody grins and says, "I've seen you naked before, Star."
I flip him off and say, "I know. Still not sure what I was thinking back then."
Cody laughs and says, "Probably thinking about how to get my attention."
I look at him and say, "Is that what you think I was doing? Hell Cody you had known me for like 3 years when I did that."
Cody says, "And pretty much 10 years is a long time to know somebody when two people stop talking."
I look at him and say, "Whose fault is that? Not mine. Your witch of a girlfriend is the reason."
Cody says, "Star, she's nice once you get to know her. You've never taken the time to get to know her."
I ask him, "Why should I? She hasn't liked me since the first time you brought her around. I'm still not sure what I did to piss her off. You know what I'm going to get the bulls your suppose to be on for practice."
I quickly walk out the door.
Cody mumbles, "Maybe it's because of how I feel about you, Star."
Fraser rubs the back of his neck and says, "So uh do you think we need to go help Star?"
Lane says, "Yeah we should. She's upset and when she gets upset she always does something stupid."
The guys get up and follow Lane outside.
One of the ranch hands looks at Lane and says, "Your sister is about to hurt herself. She's pissed big time about something."
Lane gives a sharp look to Cody and then says, "I'll take care of it Dallas. Thanks for letting me know."
Lane walks over to me and grabs my arm and whispers, "Star, go talk to him. Stop being a brat and acting like your tough. These last couple months have been rough because you two were both stupid and didn't want to talk to each other."
I look at Lane and say, "Uh fine. I'll go over there but I'm not talking to him."
Lane grins and says, "Okay Starlee."

I walk over to Cody and look down and mumble, "Lane told me to come over here." Cody says, "Star, look at me."
I keep looking down at the ground.
Cody puts his finger under my chin and gently pushes it up.
I look at him and say, "What, Cody?"
Cody groans and says, "Come on Bug. I was messing with you. I'm getting to talk to you again and we're already having issues."
I ask, "And again whose fault is that?"
Cody looks down and says, " I know, Star, I know. Jamie and I are having issues."
I shake my head and say, "Y'all are always having issues. I am usually the one that gets blamed."
Cody says, "Your still getting blamed but it's not all you. I told her that I lost the one person who knows how to handle every situation thrown at me and the one person whose been one of my biggest fans. She didn't like that to much."
I laugh and say, "Would you expect her to? Code your in a relationship with her and your main focus besides bull riding has been me." Cody grins and says, "I made a promise almost  10 years ago that I'd watch over you. I've sucked at my job sometimes but I've been there. Have I not?"
I nod and say, "But you need to focus on her Cody. I'm 26 years old so I can look after myself now."
Cody raises an eyebrow and says, "Oh really? Do I need to remind you that back in January you almost fell and busted your butt; that if I hadn't been standing there to grab you then you would have?"
I groan and say, "That's different because  I slipped on some ice."
Cody shakes his head and says, "There was no ice around, Bug."
I roll my eyes at him and say, "Fine you saved my butt that day but, Cody, you have to focus on her."
Cody says, "And if I don't want to? What if I have something else I'd prefer to focus on?"
I groan and say, "Then break up with her, Cody."
Cody says, "You know you'll get the blame right?"
I nod and say, "It doesn't matter. I'm not the main reason your breaking up with her."
Cody says, "And if you are?"
I look at him and say, "It is not because of me. Right now we're having to work on our friendship. I haven't spoken to you in like 3 months. A lot has happened."
Cody says, "Like what?"
I shrug my shoulders and say, "I don't know. I'll think of stuff later. I assume y'all are staying for lunch and supper?"
Cody says, "Do you really think we'd pass up on a lunch and supper your making? Come on, Star, we're from a different continent but we're not stupid."
I laugh and say, "I question that a lot. I mean look at us. We haven't talked in months."
Cody says, "We need to talk about all that later, too. While I'm glad your speaking to me, we need to talk about what happened."
I nod and say, "Tonight after supper. Lane has to leave in a bit for work so I have to entertain all three of y'all. He'll be back tonight before supper so he can entertain Fras and Lachlan while we talk."
Fraser turns and says, "Okay, Star, you have to share him now."
I stick my tongue out at Fraser and lightly push Cody towards them and say, "Here, you can have him! I was hoping he'd be less annoying after a few months of not talking to him but boy was I wrong!"
Cody grins and says, "I'll get you later for that Star-bug."
I grin at him as I walk off to go check on all the other animals.
