Telling everyone...

*A month later*
Finals didn't go the way any of the Aussies would have liked it. I've told a couple of them that we have to live and learn. We need to learn from our mistakes. Which explains why I'm standing on the door steps of Cody's brother's house with my hand resting on my stomach. I'm slowly starting to show. If you don't know me well enough you can't really tell but those that know me well they can tell. Fraser loves to tell people that before long I'll be as big as a house but he'll still be there to help me with the baby. I keep trying to decide if I want to do this or not. I look down at my phone and see the picture on my lock screen and I know I need to tell Cody.

I'm about to knock when Fraser texts me and tells me good luck and that he loves me and the little one. I smile and take a deep breath before I knock on the door. Brad opens the door and says, "Starlee? Umm hey wasn't expecting to see you around here anytime soon after Cody told us what happened."
I look down and nod. "Is Cody here, Brad? I need to speak to him."
Brad nods and says, "He's down in the barn. Want me to walk you down there?"
I shake my head and turn to head to the barn.

I get down there and take a deep breath before I walk in. I hear cussing and see hay fly out of one of the stalls. I walk down there and stop until he notices me standing there. He takes one look and I can tell he's thinking.
"What? Came to rub it in my face that Fraser got you pregnant in a month? Smooth, Star. You know people are going to start calling you a whore because of that." He says to me.
"It's not Fraser's, Cody. It's yours. I was pregnant before finals." I inform him.
He throws down the rake and is already at my side. His hands automatically go to my stomach.
"My child is growing in there?" He questions me.
I smile and nod my head.
He pauses and looks at me. I smile at him and move his hands so I can move my shirt up a bit.  I move his hand back to my stomach and whisper, "She likes to kick right here. You can't feel much of it yet but she loves when Fraser talks to her and she'll start kicking."
Cody looks and says, "It's a girl?"
I laugh and say, "Not sure yet. I just want it to be a girl so I'm going ahead and calling it a girl."
He smiles and says, "You and Fraser?"
"We've been talking but not sure yet, Code. He's been helping out with everything. He didn't want me trying to get through this pregnancy by myself. Plus he wanted me to talk to you first." I tell him.

"Starlee, your not. Damnit. You should have known once you told me I'd help. I want to be in my child's life." He says.
I look down and say, "I know, Code. Fraser has been pushing for me to tell you that I was pregnant."
He puts his hand under my chin and pushes it up then kisses me. I put my hands on his chest and push myself back away from him.
"We need to talk about that night before we start anything again, Cody." I whisper.
He pulls me to him and says, "Star, I promise it's not what you think. I wouldn't hurt you like that and you know it. I was talking to that girl while waiting on you downstairs. When I said I had to go to meet my girlfriend she threw herself at me. That's when you walked in, Star. I swear I wouldn't do that to you. I know your past and what all you've been through."

I look down and nod then whisper, "Code, maybe we should take a break for a little bit longer. Just this time stay in touch that way I can keep you up to date on the baby. I believe you but I just need time to process everything."
He sighs and says, "Long as I know I still have a chance then I'm fine with it. That doesn't mean I want you with Fraser though, Starlee."
I nod my head and whisper, "I know but whatever happens happens, Code."

He buries his face into my neck and whispers, "Star, just don't stress. I want this child as much as you do. Don't think too long or hard on what's going on with us okay? We'll handle everything together. I want to enjoy every moment with you especially now that your carrying my child."
I look at him and quickly say, "You mean our child."
He lifts his head up and grins at me. I know instantly he did that on purpose. I roll my eyes and shake my head at him.
He puts one hand back on my stomach and says, "Are you staying here in Singleton or going to Kempsey?"
I shrug and say, "I need to go look at some paper work for the mine machinery but if I do that then I probably won't stay for long. I need to go inform my big brothers that they have a niece or nephew on the way."
Cody groans and says, "That means your gonna have to tell them he's mine then?"
I nod then laugh and say, "He? I'm telling you it's going to be a girl, Code."
Cody says, "Nah. It's gonna be a boy. I can just feel it, Princess. Plus if it's a girl I'd have to start calling her princess instead of you."
I roll my eyes and say, "Can we call a family dinner tonight? That way we can tell everyone?"
He looks at me and nods his head and says, "Are you sure your ready to tell my family your pregnant?"
I nod and say, "It's gotta happen sooner or later. I'm more worried about telling Jared and Pete than I am your family."
Cody groans and says, "Yeah, I know. They aren't going to be happy one bit that it's mine."
"They like you Cody. They just haven't liked some of the stuff and trouble we've caused over the years. You know they're protective of me. I'd feel better if you went with me to tell them or I can have Fraser go with me..." I say to him.
He gives me a look and says, "I'll go. You know they wouldn't be happy if I wasn't there. Pete may throw a punch at me but it'll be okay. I'm owning up that the baby is mine."
I roll my eyes and say, "Okay let's go tell the family we're having a family dinner tonight and that you finally knocked me up."
I grin at him and walk out of the stall. I make sure to put a little more sass in my walk than usual though. I peek over my shoulder and see Cody shaking his head at me.

*A few days later in Kempsey*
I walk into Rosie and Paul's house and see that the family is already at the table. I grab Cody's hand and squeeze it before I lead us into the dinning room.

Pete looks up and gives Cody a look then raises an eyebrow at me. I smile at him and sit down in my spot.
"Well you didn't say you were going to bring a friend with you, Star." Jared says.
I laugh and say, "Sorry, Red. It just kinda happened. Let's eat dinner then I have some stuff to tell the family."
We eat and then everyone goes quiet.
"Well, Starlee, what do you have to tell all of us?" Paul asks.
I look down and mumble, "I'm pregnant."

I hear do what yelled by three different mouths. The next thing I know I hear chairs scrapping the floor and look up to see Denny yanking Cody up. Pete is right behind him following him out the door. I look over at Jared and can tell he is processing everything. I jump up and run out of the door.
"Damnit, Wolf! Let go of him." I yell at Denny. "Jared, please come help me."
Jared walks outside and yanks Pete back and mumbles about needing to check on me. Pete looks at me and sees the tears in my eyes. I hear him mumble a crap as he walks over to me and wraps his arms around me. Jared pulls Denny back and whispers about him scaring me and putting me under stress. I watch Cody sit up and look around until he spots me.
"Pete, I need to go check on him. His lip is bleeding." I whisper. Pete kisses my head and let's go of me.
I walk over to Cody and whisper, "Let's go in so I can look at your lip."
He gets up and follows me to the bathroom.
I grab the first aid kit and look for a wash cloth. He looks at me and laughs.
I give him a questioning look.
"The first time Pete caught us together. He beat the crap out of me and you drug me off into this very bathroom to do what your doing now."
I laugh as I replay that memory. "I thought Pete was going to kill you that night. I'm glad he didn't though."
Cody puts his hands on my waist and says, "I'm glad he didn't either or I wouldn't be here now with you pregnant with my child."
I roll my eyes and start cleaning his lip.
Pete walks to the doorway and says, "He okay?"
I nod and say, "I wasn't expecting Wolf to be the one that flipped out. I was expecting you and Red to."
"Well Cody just better watch out especially now since your pregnant. Denny, Jared, and I will have a watchful eye on him. I would apologize but I'm glad it happened. Dad is getting on to Denny now."
I roll my eyes and finish cleaning Cody's lip. I move over to Pete and put his hand on my stomach and say, "Your niece or nephew likes to kick in this spot." I smile as I feel the little one's soft kicks to my stomach and watch Pete's eyes get bigger and he figures out that the baby is kicking. I look over at Cody and see that he is smiling at us.
