Beach Trip

*A few days later at the airport*
I keep my face buried in the crook of Cody's neck and my arms wrapped around his waist. We just started dating and I'm already having to leave. I'm so lost in my thoughts that I don't hear Cody talking to me. I mumble, "What?"
He says, "They just called for your plane."
I groan and move my face to look at him. He smiles at me and says, "Go, Bug."
I shake my head and mumble, "I don't want to."
He says, "Bug, this is your annual girls trip to the beach before everyone's schedule gets crazy. Your not missing it just because we've started dating."
"I won't see you until PBR Nashville, Code. That's like 3 weeks." I state.
He laughs and says, "Bug, you can call or text me. Go have fun. Go inform Jayd we're dating now so she can have 50 questions for me in Nashville."
I laugh and kiss him quickly then head to the plane.

*At the beach*
Jem looks at me as I'm typing away on my phone. I notice out of the corner of my eye she's looks back and forth between Jayd and me. Finally I have enough of it and ask her what she is doing.
Jem says, "You have spent almost our whole trip here on your phone. That's very unlike you. Your usually swimming and goofing off. What's going on, Starlee?"
Jayd says, "Whoever she's been talking to has had her smiling nonstop, too. Come on, Star, what haven't you told us?"
I grin and say, "I'm dating someone."
The girls start squealing and at the same time start asking me who I'm dating and how long we've been dating. I just grin at them and shrug my shoulders.
Jayd's eyes gets big and she screams, "OMG! It's Heffernan isn't it?!?!"
I look at her and grin. Her and Jem both throw theirselves at me squealing.
Jem squeals and says, "It's about time!  Took both of y'all long enough!"
I smile and nod my head. The girls look at each other and I can already tell they have some type of plan in mind for something. I raise my eyebrow at them and wait for one of them to explain their plan to me. Jayd smiles at me and I can see a mischief look in her eye.
I groan and say, "Whatever you two have planned don't think about it."
Jem grins and says, "We don't have anything planned big sister. I am curious how long you and Mr. Heffernan have been dating though."
"Uhh like 2 and a half weeks, Jem. We started dating the night of Australia's finals." I tell them.
She starts giggling. I groan and look at her. Jayd laughs and says, "You know whatever she's thinking isn't good."
"Don't I know. Come on Jemmer tell us what your thinking." I say to her.
"He was planning on getting lucky one way or another that night then." She states to us. I put my head in my hands and try not to start laughing.
Jayd has her hand over her mouth and mumbles, "Jem!"
Jem grins at us and says, "What? I'm just stating a fact. He knew if he didn't win the title then he at least won the girl."
Jayd says, "Did he really win the girl? I mean they've known each other for years. All it took was for one of them to finally say how they felt about the other."
I roll my eyes and stand up. I start walking off down the beach. I faintly hear Jem say something about me being upset with them. I'm not really upset with Jem and Jayd. I just need away from them to clear my head. I text Cody and tell him what happened. He texts me back asking if he needs to call me to check on me. I quickly text him back and tell him while I'd love to hear his voice it's best not to right now. I look over my shoulder to see Jem and Jayd following behind me. I didn't figure it would take them long to come after me. I keep walking further along the shoreline and I'm not really paying attention to where I'm going or what I'm doing until I run into someone. A pair of arms snakes around me and keeps me from falling. I look up and mumble sorry. The young man grins at me and says, "It's okay beautiful. Better be careful next time though. The next guy might not be as nice as me."
I laugh and say, "That's very true."
Jem and Jayd run up to me and start asking if I'm okay. I'm about to answer when the guy looks at Jayd and says, "Well hey Jayd. Where's Ty?"
Jayd looks a little panicked and says, "Hey Jake. Good seeing you."
I look back and forth between them. Jayd says, "Jake this is Starlee Hedeman and Jemmer Crossett. Star, Jem this is Jake Macnally."
Jake grins and says, "Nice to meet y'all. I better get going to meet up with my friends. Good seeing you Jayd."
He walks off and I look at Jayd.
Jayd says, "He rides bulls with Ty. He just got on the Built Ford Tough series. Ty isn't a fan of him. He will flirt with anything that moves no matter if their in a relationship or not. Star, I'd be careful with how he was looking at you. I know you care for Cody but knowing Jake he would get something started."
I nod my head and mumble, "Wasn't planning on doing anything that would hurt my relationship."
Jayd looks at me and quickly states, "Star, I didn't mean it like that. I know you won't do anything to hurt yours and Cody's relationship. It took you two long enough to start dating and finally figuring out how y'all feel about each other. I just don't want you or even him hurt."
"Thanks Jayd. Glad your looking out for me." I state as I start to walk off. I hear Jem tell Jayd to just let me go and walk it off.
