Australian Finals (Part 1)

*Day of PBR Australia Finals*
I sneak around the corner of the chute and look back to make sure no one saw me. As I do this I run right into Brad.
He grins at me and says, "Cody told us the other night you wouldn't be here, Star."
I smile and say, "Surprise! I got hurt a few weeks ago and was told to rest until the next time Dr. Freeman could look at me. Your brother doesn't know I'm here so don't say a word to him. I'm actually hiding now so he doesn't spot me."
Brad starts laughing and says, "Well then when are you going to let him know your here?"
I shrug my shoulders and say, "I was thinking I could pull his rope tonight."
Brad says, "Would that be a good thing to do? We don't want him to lose his focus because he figures out your here."
"He'll be okay. I'll remind him he has to focus and he can spend time with me later." I tell Brad.
Brad shakes his head and says, "Okay, Star, if you say so. Don't ruin this moment for him is all I'm asking."
"I wouldn't dare. He's worked hard for this and I'm gonna make sure he gets it." I say.
Brad nods and says, "Well go find your hiding spot for now because he's on his way over here."
I smile and take off to go hide for a little while.

"Kid, do you really think your hiding by sitting here?" I hear one of my other God-fathers ask.
I look up at him and say, "Hey Uncle T-Roy! Yes, I do now be quiet before someone hears us."
"He knows your here, Star. He saw you earlier. He's just waiting on you to stop hiding and come find him." Troy tells me.
I roll my eyes at him and hold my hand out to him so he can help me up. He grins at me and pulls me in for a hug. Then pushes me off to go find Cody.

I walk back to the back where all the riders are and see Cody talking to a couple of the guys. I walk up behind him and put my finger over me mouth so the guys know to be quiet. I wrap my arms around his waist and bury my head into his back.
He laughs and says, "Hey Star-bug."
I let go of him and pout at him and say, "You aren't happy to see me?"
He shakes his head and pulls me in for a hug and whispers in my ear, "I'm always happy to see you, Starlee."
I lay my head against his shoulder and mumble, "Yeah, yeah if you say so."
We stay like that for a few more seconds.
Fraser coughs and says, "Okay lovebirds we have to start getting ready for tonight."
I pick my head up and give Fraser a look before sticking out my tongue at him.
I lean up and kiss Cody's cheek and inform him I'm pulling his rope tonight.
He pulls me in for a hug and kisses the top of my head then quickly mumbles I'll see you later.
I watch the boys walk off to finish getting ready. I know I shouldn't but I decide to wonder around until it's time for me to meet up with everyone. As I'm wondering around I see someone I don't want to see here. I hope and pray Jamie doesn't notice me. I quickly walk back to the back where the guys are. Cody looks over at me and grins then mouths are you okay?
I shake my head no and nod for him to follow me. He follows me out of the locker room and says, "Bug, what's wrong?"
I quickly turn around to face him and push him against the wall then step closer to him.
He grins at me and says, "Star, while I like the idea now is not the time to be doing this."
I snort and harshly ask, "Did you know Jamie was here?"
Cody wraps his arms around me and says, "Star, I swear I didn't know she would be here. I would have told you up front about it if I would have known. Don't worry about her angel." He leans down and kisses me quickly then whispers, "I don't want her. I'm looking at the one person I want."
I shake my head at him and mumble, "I believe you, Code. I swear if I catch her anywhere near you it won't be nice what happens to her."
He grins and puts his finger under my chin and pushes it up.
"My little fighter. Stop worrying about it, Bug. She doesn't hold a candle to you." He says.
He leans down and kisses me again. I deepen the kiss. We stay like that for a few seconds before we hear someone start making coughing noises. We pull back and I look to see Fraser standing there with one eyebrow raised at us. I grin and bury my head into Cody's chest. Cody laughs and kisses the top of my head.
Fraser says, "Well I was expecting this one day but not today of all days. Are you two finally together? Please tell me you are. I placed bets with Lachlan and I'd like to be the one that wins this time."
I move away from Cody to have him interlock our fingers. I shake my head at Fraser and state, "Sorry, Fras, we aren't together yet. We're taking things slow."
Fraser laughs and says, "When I take things slow I don't get to make out with the girl just because one of us felt like it. I sure didn't hold hands either."
I laugh and say, "You know as well as we do that we've always been different. We've held hands on many different occasions."
Fraser asks, "So you two are talking though?"
I look at Cody and grin at him. "Yes, we're talking. As I said before we're taking things slow. Not sure when one of us will ask the other out but we'll worry about that later on. Right now we just want to work on what all has been messed up. Plus I don't want people to think I'm a rebound for Cody."
Fraser laughs and says, "If they think your a rebound then their stupid. He's been crushing on you for years and I think you've been crushing on him for just as long."
Cody raises an eyebrow at me and I start blushing. I pop him on the chest.
He puts his hand on his chest and says, "That hurt!"
I laugh and pat his cheek and say, "It didn't hurt and you know it. Your a tough guy."
Cody grins and pulls me close to him and whispers so I can only hear him, "You'll have to make up for it later."
I grin and whisper back, "I'll make it up to you later, sweetheart. First, you have to go win me a championship."
Cody laughs and says, "Win you a championship?" 
I grin and nod my head. About that time Brad comes around the corner and says, "Umm we may have a problem. Jamie is here and is requesting to speak to you, Code."
Cody groans and looks at me. I give him a look and whisper, "Go. I trust you."
He smiles and quickly kisses me before he walks off with Brad.
I take a deep breath and look at Fraser. Fraser wraps his arm around me and says, "It's going to be okay, Star. Cody isn't stupid enough to throw away what you two are working on"
"I just have to remember I'm the one he's going back home with tonight. I'm the one he wants." I tell Fraser.
Fraser nods and hugs me and whispers, "If you need anything tonight, Star, come find me or one of the guys."
I nod and then mumble, "I'm going to find Roy. I need my cousin's advice."
