The black haired girl slowly blinked her eyes open, despite being unable to see. Where was she? How long was she out? She felt something soft behind her head. It must be a pillow. She sat up and focused on her senses.
The hospital... She concluded.
She faced to the side and used her hands to feel around. She felt a vase filled with flowers and drawers on the front side of the desk. She opened up the top drawer and felt around again. Nothing's inside.
Then she heard the door open. "Ah! Miss, you are awake!"
She turned towards the nurse who called out and nodded. "Hello. How long was I out?"
"You have been unconscious for quite some time now, miss. Three years at most!" The nurse said.
Three years...? The only way she could respond was to nod.
"However, it's wonderful to see you up. I'll bring you some food right away, and get the doctor while at it. For now, just settle down miss and enjoy the view from the window." She said as she scrambeld off.
"Enjoy the view...?" She turned her head to where she supposed the window should be. "I couldn't even if I wanted to..."
A few minutes later, she heard different sets of footsteps coming through the door. One was heavy but at ease, while the other was light but rather frantic. She assumed the first was the doctor and the other was the nurse from ealier.
She heard the doctor came closer and looked up at where his face should be. "Good morning doctor."
The elder male chuckled. "It is actually the evening. But good day to you too." She heard a click and figured it was a clipboard. The doctor nodded. "By the way you are talking so normally, I'd say you don't feel as if you have any more injuries."
The girl gave a shrug. "I didn't feel anything when I woke up either."
"Miss... Sorano Hikari, is that right?" He continued without her answering. "From your medical files, it says you are born blind but your other senses, to be specific, your hearing has been enhanced beyond limits to seize it of being a problem."
Once again, the girl shrugged. "Well I trained my other senses too and by using that I can picture everything in my head. That's how I figured out I'm in a hospital in the first place without people telling me."
"How old are you now?"
"Well if what the nurse said is true, and I have been asleep for three years, that would mean I'm 20." She replied. Then she felt her stomach growled and blushed in embarrassment. "Sorry, but can I please have something to eat?"
"Yes, here you are." The nurse said, putting a tray infront of her. "It's Christmas Eve, so we gave all our patients hot chocolate to keep warm."
The girl took a bite and chewed quietly. "Omelette? It's delicious." She said with a small smile.
"We'll leave you to your meal. For now, enjoy what you can hear from the live broadcast happening at National Arena." The doctor said kindly. "I heard that there are some famous idol groups performing there."
"I see. Thank you doctor." When she heard the footsteps dissipated, she turn her attention to the tv.
"Now please welcome, HEAVENS!!"
