Kira went with Hikari to the doctor, just like Eiichi suggested. She also got a clearing from Raging, meaning she could take all the time she needed as long as her job can still be finished afterwards.

The scheduled time was two weeks later and she spent the rest of the time waiting while getting lectured by a worried Eiichi.

"You make it sound like she's about to die." Yamato sweatdropped as he muttered to his leader, who didn't hear him because he was far too busy with the ongoing lecture.

"He's, at least, openly showing his care for her." Shion said as he stood next to the taller man, who only shrugged in reply. "Before, they both were keeping secrets."

"Even if it was so obvious~!" Van said in a teasing manner.

"You wouldn't have figured it out if it weren't for Valentines day." Nagi rolled his eyes. "Except Kira and Eiji, right? Because Kira's her friend and Eiji's his brother?"

Eiji had decided to retreat when he failed to calm his brother down. He looked at Nagi with a look of defeat before responding. "Nii-san wanted to visit the hospital a few months back. Just a bit after New Year, I think. He wanted me to accompany him so I did, but when we got there, a nurse told us she was already discharged. Then he explained who exactly he wanted to see. I've never met Sora-san before the time she and Nanami stayed over for a week. I didn't even know nii-san had a girlfriend..."

"I got them together." Kira stated bluntly, making the rest sweatdrop.

"I suppose you took pride in that?" Van asked jokingly. He had to squint to see the very small smile Kira had on his face.

"If our lives are an anime, I bet right now, Kira would have flowers floating around him." Yamato muttered.

"And sparkles." Shion added. "Maybe even a bunny or a few birds that came in from nowhere."

"And a very bright background." Nagi said, getting into the fun. "Either pink or yellow."

"Our lives are not a tv show though, so that's not really possible." Eiji said with a sweatdrop. Kira nodded, showing his agreement.

"Well, you never know~" Van winked at a CCTV camera at the corner of the room. A female staff member, who just happened to be cleaning the security room, saw this and bolted for the restroom, her cheeks in her hands.

Deeming the rest of the conversation as unimportant, Kira turned his attention back to Hikari. She was listening to the brunette intently, still with a smile on her face. She had no complaints about getting scolded at for about... How long has it been? Nine to ten days in a row? More? He was always surprised at how much positivity is in her.

Hikari couldn't help but feel happy about this. It's unusual, really. Whenever she gets scolded or lectured, she'd always had her head hung low and she would feel devastated afterwards. But this is a different case. It feels more like a reminder than a scolding. Just a different way of saying, "I am really, and I mean REALLY, worried about you." She found this side of him cute.

A phone call interrupted Eiichi's speech and after that he went to work, but he decided to continue it before they went to sleep. By the night before the scheduled date, he had finally ran out of things to say about the matter and was silent once they reached her bed.

Hikari dove into her blankets and snuggled onto her pillow. Eiichi came in like any normal person would and laid down beside her. She rolled over to him and hugged his arm from the side. "Sweet dreams." She said sleepily.

"Yeah. G'night." He replied. He waited for her to fall asleep, before removing his arm from her grip. He used both arms to embrace her smaller frame and fell asleep while holding her that way.
