Pressure

Hikari fidgetted as she stood just outside the door. Kira was beside her, patting her back for comfort.

"I'm scared."

"Thirteen times."

"Kira, counting how many times I've said it isn't helping."

"That's eight times."

"Kira..."

"Thirty fourth time."

"Kira!"

"Thirty fifth."

"Argh!"

"Third."

"... If this is how you plan on cheering me up, it's ineffective."

She sighed as he began to grow silent again. She stared at the dark oak door and stared fidgetting again. Her parents had requested to talk to Eiichi alone and it made her nervous. She didn't really care about their opinions of him since she would stay here anyway, even if they'll disown her again. What she was worried about is if he could and would keep his cool.

About half an hour later, the door opened and Eiichi walked out with an exhausted sigh. She frowned at this. "So... How was it?"

"Well, it definitely wasn't as bad as talking to my dad." He let a wary smile show. "They approved... By a margin." The other two people in there left without saying a word to any of them.

Not a minute later that someone else popped their head out. "Ka-chan, you should've seen the way Eiichi roasted them! He was throwing sassy remarks at them and it had bite!"

Eiichi's eyes widen. "You saw all that?!"

"And heard! You were awesome! A truly different person when you're in love!" Van made kissy faces to tease the slightly younger brunette.

"Ugh... Shut up."

"Um..." Hikari's voice got both of their attentions. "I'm afraid to ask, but... What exactly happened in there?"

"To keep it simple," Eiichi began. "He said stuff and I snapped at him."

"That's too simple, Eiichi." Van said smirking. "You should go into at least a bit more detail about what kind of things you said. 'I love her with all my heart so don't you dare think you can steal her from me so easily!' 'She had to suffer all this time and you only came when things are getting better? Where the hell were you?' 'No one loves her more than me, but for sure all of HEAVENS loves her more than the both of you ever did combined.' 'You're only here now because she's finally able to see. Ungrateful people like you should just leave us alone!' and so on."

Hikari stared at Eiichi for a good while. "You... Said all that?" He sighed and nodded. "Wow... I mean, I'm grateful, but wow..."

Van continued with a chuckle. "It was a funny thing to see though. He came in that room to get permission from your parents to marry you. How it works in the movies, is that when the guy talks to the girl's parents, they either like him or scold him. Now, here, Eiichi's the one scolding them. And he still got the approval! Bravo, Eiichi! Bravo!"

Kira, ever silent, deadpanned. "How?"

"They got scared probably." Eiichi muttered. "That and they think that someone like me is considered a good boyfriend for being possessive."

"Eiichi looked like he was gonna go 'yandere' on them." Van chuckled.

"I didn't."

"I said you looked like you did. Or at least, wanted to."
