Fortunately for both of them, it didn't get awkward after that experience. They both openly share their thoughts on it and decided to think further before doing anything else. A couple of weeks passed by in an instant and October had finally started.

This is the time of the year where Nagi goes crazy over candy and costumes and Eiichi starts preparing for his brother's birthday party.

"Right... October 1st is also Megane Day..." Hikari muttered to herself.

"So what? Are you gonna do something for Eiichi again?" Yamato asked. "His birthday was literally a month ago."

When she shook her head, Nagi smirked. "Steal his glasses! It's gonna be fun!"

She shook her head again. "It's not okay to poke fun with people's eye sight, Nagi. I'd know better because... Well, you know."

"Yeah, but it'll be cute, won't it?" Van said, chuckling. "I mean, seeing him lose his composure for just a day."

She sighed. "No, it won't. And if you two even try, I'll whack you both with a wooden spoon."

"Ouch. Future wife getting fiesty." Nagi taunted.

"It's a good thing he already left for work today..." She muttered.

"You've got to be kidding me."

Hikari came into the living room and watched as the brunette struggled to find their youngest member.

"Nagi, I swear, when I get my glasses back, you're grounded until Christmas." Eiichi said, scowling from his sitting position on the floor.

"Happy megane day, leader!" The younger boy giggled.

"Why is Kira always gone when I need him..." The brunette muttered. He tried to stand up, but bumped his side to the corner of the coffee table rather roughly and fell back down, groaning.

Nagi bursted into laughter. He had never seen his leader being this comically frustrated and, because he couldn't find his phone to record the scene, he was going to enjoy every second of it.

Hikari sighed and walked over to the brunette, who was laying down in a fetal position from the shock and pain of the bump. "Eiichi, you alive?"

He stayed in that position, still rubbing his side. "Right now, I kind of wish I wasn't." He sighed and rubbed his eyes. "My eyesight's horrible and it's only getting worse. Can't even see my hands unless they're... I don't know, five inches from my face now maybe."

Hikari sat on her knees beside him. "How did it get so bad?"

"Laptop at night time. No lights." He sat up with her help. "If the lights were on, Kira would know and I wouldn't get half as much work done."

"Okay... Wait, how do you shower then?"

"Oh, I struggled a lot the first two or three times. I just got used to the surroundings, kinda like you did when you were still blind."

"Oh. Well, do you have any spare glasses in your room? I could go get one for you if you want."

"The only other one I have has a crack in the lens." He muttered. "But I guess that's better than nothing. It's in the top drawer of my desk. It looks exactly the same as my current one so it shouldn't be too hard to miss."

"Alright." She was about to stand up, but then Nagi started laughing again.

"Nu-uh! I got it first!" He held up both pairs of glasses. "Nothing can save you now, Eiichi~"

Before either of them could reply, Van came in with a plastic bag filled with snacks. "Hey! I stopped by the convenience store and so many things look so good! Anyone wants some?" Then he blinked. "Eh, Eiichi, where'd your glasses go? Did Nagi actually get you?"

"Yup!" They both replied at once. One in irritation and the other with joy.

"Ah... Well, good luck then."

"You're not gonna help?!"

"Nah, I'm gonna enjoy some snacks." He tossed a bar of chocolate to Hikari, who just barely managed to catch it. "White chocolate. Grabbed it as soon as I saw it."

She smiled wryly. "Thanks, but I'd appreciate you helping out more than a bar of chocolate."

"Then... Two bars?"

"Van..."

"Kidding, I'm kidding." His smile was still present. "I'm still not helping out."

"When is Kira coming home...?" Their leader groaned childishly. It was an amusing sight really. Hikari, despite her efforts not to, let out a small giggle. The man glared in the direction it was coming from and sighed. "I'm going back to my room. At least I won't trip over anything there."

"Let's see if you'll even make it." Nagi snickered.

The brunette rolled his eyes and pushed himself up. He managed to get to the stairs without problem, but Hikari ran over at once when he tried going up on his own. She didn't want to take any chances.

While helping him up the stairs, she glanced at Nagi, who was still smirking at them. She frowned. "You're seriously not gonna give those back?"

"It's only for today. What harm can it do?" He replied nonchantly.

She sighed helplessly as Eiichi grumbled. When they made it to his room, he went to sit on the bed.

Hikari went to sit beside him and hummed. "So what now?"

"Wait until the day is over." He replied, laying down. "Or until Kira gets back. He's the only one Nagi listens too when he's pulling pranks."

"Mmm..." She stayed up, leaning against the headboard. "How's your side?"

"Still stings, but I'm out of the shock." He replied, starting to rub it again.

Sighing, he pulled himself up and leaned against her shoulder. She squirmed before turning, placing his head just below her neck. She held his head, patting him and ran a hand through his hair, playing with it a little. He closed his eyes, sighing again, but with content instead of frustration.

"How did you go through with it?" He began. "I'm... I guess you can consider me half blind and this much is already a pain. So how were you able to deal with everything when you were completely blind?"

She hummed in thought, but it didn't take long for an answer to come out of her. "Things were really rough at the start, but everything got easier when I met you and Kira. You two helped me out a whole lot, so I'm really glad that now I can return the favor." She chuckled. "I don't mean that it's a good thing your glasses got stolen, but this makes us on equal ground now, right?"

"True."

He nuzzled her neck and placed a soft kiss on it. She smiled and kissed his hair in return. It was nice to be the one giving hugs for a change.
