Hikari woke up to the smell of cinnamon. When her eyes opened, she found a lock of ash brown hair on her nose. Her face was just an inch away from his. She didn't remember being this close to him when she fell asleep.

She felt something cold wrapped around her finger and looked down on it. The ring glinted in that single ray of sunlight. She smiled to herself. Last night wasn't exactly romantic, despite him 'proposing'... But she was alright with that. They both knew that he didn't need to ask, he already has her approval. With all the jokes he constantly makes about getting married and all the times she played along, by the time he was actually serious, all he has to do was give her the ring.

"Morning, angel." Eiichi's sleepy voice greeted her.

She was about to greet back, but then froze. His eyes were still closed, which made her rather confused. "Um... Eiichi?"

"Hm?"

"Are you... Sleep talking?"

"Nah, I'm just too lazy to open my eyes."

"Wha..."

"You know how sometimes, after a good night's rest, it just sort of stings to open your eyes and adjust to the light?"

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"... Eiichi, open your eyes."

"No thank you."

"Open them before I open them for you."

"And just how do you intend to do that-"

Before he could finish, her lips were already on his. His mouth was left hanging open and her tounge entered and made contact with his, causing him to snap his eyes open from the shock. When she saw this, she pulled back once again with a smile. "I win."

He blinked once. Twice. Three times. ". . . Wow, you've gotten bolder."

"I guess my renewed eyes and ring gave a bit of a confidence boost?" She said with a shrug. "Not sure. All I know is that, any kinds of doubt I had about our relationship before, is completely gone."

"Oh? So you had doubts? Angel, I'm hurt." He acted out, dramatically putting a hand to his chest.

She giggled. "Yeah, well..." She shrugged. "I don't know. It just scary... To think you'll just dump me if I make a mistake. You're the first person to actually like me for me. That's why I never complain about anything."

He sighed. "To be fair, I was an asshole... And a jerk... And being stupid... And immature... And selfish... And cold hearted... And hard headed... And once again, an asshole..."

"You want my honest opinion?"

"No."

"Yeah, you are an asshole."

"I said I didn't want it. Nor do I care."

She lightly pecked his lips. "But I still love you anyway."

After a short bit of silence, he opened his mouth again. "Yeah, you've definitely gotten bolder." His lips curved into a smirk as his arms snaked around her waist. "I wonder if I could take advantage of that."

"I thought you said you didn't care." She said playfully, while hugging his neck.

He scowled. "You're getting real' clever too."

She smiled cheerfully. Almost too cheerfully. "Learned from the best."

He rolled his eyes. "Yeah, okay, sure."

She opened her mouth to say something, but the rapid knocks on the door stopped her. "Oi! Hikari! Eiichi! Get up and quit making out! Kira won't let us have breakfast otherwise! And don't you dare keep me away from my mac and cheese!"
