forget me not

Hoseok liked forget me not's. He was never fully educated on flowers, but forget me not's always caught his eye, and the name was easy to remember. When he was young he tried to grow some of his own in the back garden of his house, but they never seemed to grow. It took years to realise he never watered them enough. Whenever he visited the Bangtan flower store he never saw the flower and it did upset him slightly, they were one of the only flowers he knew and they didn't have them. Right now he was in the dance studio, legs crossed and scrolling through a gardening website on how to grow the flower, if Yoongi wouldn't do it he would instead. This was when Mark dropped himself down in front of him, backpack clattering off the floor and making Hoseok jump out of his skin, phone collapsing onto the floor alongside Mark's backpack.

"Hello, Yoongi's boyfriend." Mark smiled innocently, legs crossed in front of himself and hands interlocked in his lap.

"Hi, Mark..." Hoseok picked back up his phone, closing the safari app and concealing the fact he was trying to grow flowers, he knew Yoongi would be brought into the conversation and he didn't want to talk about his boyfriend when Mark was being strangely curious.

"How are you?" Mark shuffled across to sit next to Hoseok, their shoulders briefly brushing. It sent an uneasy feeling down Hoseok's spine, he felt a weight simply where his body once was.

"I'm doing fine. How about you?"

Honestly, the conversation dragged. It was drenched it small talk and attempts to get to know each other, Mark asking the questions and Hoseok providing the answers. He tried his hardest to avoid Yoongi coming into the conversation, aiming it towards dance and performing arts.

"So, why did you break up with Youngjae?" Mark soon asked, and Hoseok ended up clearing his throat awkwardly and scratching the back of his neck.

"Because it felt necessary."

"You just wanted to be with Yoongi, right?" So much for not letting Yoongi join the conversation, Hoseok thought, an annoyed sigh sliding through his lips.

"I broke up with him because he was horrible, okay?" Hoseok sat up on the wall and spun his head to face Mark, a clearly unamused look on his face. "He checked out other guys, interrupted me when I was talking to other guys and tried to stop me from seeing my friends because he didn't want me being close to other people. It wasn't healthy. That's why."

"Oh. I see. I'm guessing you're happier with Yoongi then?"

"I'm much happier with Yoongi-hyung. He treats me a lot better than Youngjae and I wouldn't swap him for the world." Hoseok tried to put the point across that he didn't want to talk about this anymore, turning away from Mark and forcing himself onto his feet.

"Where are you going?" Mark forced himself up next to Hoseok and put a strong hand on his shoulder, trying to spin him around while he picked up his backpack.

"To see Yoongi. I want to talk to him about some flowers." He ripped his shoulder from Mark's grip and threw his backpack strap where Mark's hand once was, pushing open the dance studio door and expecting to be walking alone, but there Mark was, trailing along beside him.

"I'll come with! I was planning on seeing him today anyway!" Mark sped ahead of Hoseok slightly, and he took the opportunity to roll his eyes at him and let out a quiet sigh. Here we go.

Hoseok decided he no longer wanted to take Mark to see Yoongi, so he made a quick pit stop at the local coffee shop. He nearly let out a cry of relief when he spied Amber behind the counter alongside one of Rosé's friends, Jennie. His movements were almost instant, ducking into the store and giving Mark the quick explanation of "I need a coffee."

Upon noticing Mark was no longer by his side, he let out a puff of air through his nose and closing his eyes, a small smile lifting the corners of his lips. He then bowed at the two girls behind the counter, shoving a hand into his pocket and yanking out his wallet. In all honesty, he really did need a coffee.

"Hey girls, I'm not exactly brilliant at English so I'm just gonna order in Korean, is that okay?" Hoseok asked politely, softening his gaze and letting his smile grow larger. Amber nodded in return.

"Yeah, of course. What would you like?" She asked, pen and notebook in hand.

When Hoseok arrived to his destination (the flower store) he wasn't expecting to see what he did. Yoongi had his head in his hands and Mark had an arm wrapped around his waist, and it made Hoseok grip onto his coffee just that little bit tighter.

"Babe, what's wrong?" Hoseok spoke gently, placing down the coffee cup on the counter and standing in front of his boyfriend, hands reaching up to move and cup Yoongi's cheeks, forcing him ever so delicately to look up at him. Mark's hand slowly retracted and Hoseok didn't want to say that he was relieved - but he was.

"They're...they're..." Yoongi struggled to speak, hiccups interrupting every word as he tried. Eventually he gave up, his head falling into Hoseok's neck and a loud, depressing sob spreading across the younger's neck. Hoseok practically felt his head snap in two, and his arms wrapped themselves tightly around Yoongi's waist and simply held him in place, rocking them side to side in an attempt to calm him down.

"Speak when you're ready, sweetheart. It's okay. I'm here." He whispered against Yoongi's hair, thumbs absentmindedly doodling shapes into the other's shirt and lips pressing themselves against Yoongi.

"They're planning...on closing...the store."
