Ronny nudges me and I look at him. "What?" I say a little irritated.
"What's up with you?"
"Nothing..."
"Seriously."
"I just miss a friend I said it was nothing."
Soul lets out a long sigh and she throws her arm around me. "So, since you're gonna be in charge soon, don't you need a right hand man?" She smirks.
I look at her and smile a little. "Yeah, got anyone trustworthy in mind?"
"Of course! Me!"
"I said trustworthy."
She glares at me.
"I'm kidding. I'll consider it."
I frown and walk up to you and Soul. "Hey, was I right or what? I said by the end of this you guys would be friends."
We both shoot you a look and roll our eyes. "Yeah okay, you were right." Soul admits. "I guess you were." I smile. "I'm glad." Soul smiles. "Me too."
"Of course I was right. When am I ever wrong?" He smirks.
I laugh. "Don't get too cocky." Soul grins and we get outside. She stops and looks at all of us. "So where to?"
"Where ever you guys wanna go." Ronny puts his hands on his head
"Then let's finish things in central." I suggest. Soul nods. "Alright." I start walking. 'Hopefully when I talk to Alex he'll let me take the position...'
"Sounds good to me." Ronny says and follows Soul.
A few hours later we get back to central. News has spread around the office about Oliver's death. Soul walks in behind me and the office goes silent. In Oliver's office sits Alex. I walk over and knock on the door. He looks up at me and frowns. "Come in."
Ronny follows you into the office. "Remember that you don't have to kill him." He mutters to you. I stay outside the office as the doors close.
I nod. "I won't." I open the door and walk in. Soul takes a seat by the entrance and taps her finger on the floor. 'I hope this goes well.' Alex stands up and closes blinds of the window. I take a seat in front of his desk and he sits down. "Hello,Miss Koy." He says calmly.
"Hello, Major Armstrong.."
He glares at me for a bit.
"Why are you here?"
"To set the record straight." I fold my hands in my lap.
"Is that so?"
I nod. "It wasn't anyone else's fault but my own. She attacked and I gave an order for her to be killed and my team mate followed it. So it's not her fault."
He nods. "Right then..so you take full responsibility for this?"
"Yes Sir."
"Why is she doing this?" Ronny asks.
Soul shrugs. "Who knows. I'm not surprised though, it is Amelia we're dealing with here."
He sighs and sits back in chair. "What did you do that caused her to attack you?"
I stay quiet for a moment. "I was after her job and she found out."
I can feel the tension in the room rise.
"After he job?"
I nod. "Yes.."
"Are you still after it?"
"....Yes."
"Now I'm sure she's a target for a lot of people. Do you think she thought everything though?"
Soul laughs. "As impulsive as she is, I highly doubt it."
He glares at me and stands up. "Miss Koy..do you even begin to understand what it takes to be a leader?"
I look up at him. "I know enough to know i'd be a decent one."
He chuckles and starts pacing the room. "I don't agree Miss Koy. If you were fit to be a leader, you would have had this job to begin with."
'That stings a bit..' I lower my gaze to the floor. "Maybe you're right..but when I joined the military, I was hardly fit to be a soldier. But i've progressed since then."
He nods. "That may be true..but the way you went about obtaining this position proves that you are in no fit to be a leader."
"Well she better get this because she killed a lot of people to get here...." Ronny mutters.
She nods. "Yeah, I hope so.."
I stand up and glare at him. "How can you say that? I did whatever it took to get here! Isn't that what a leader's supposed to do? Win at all costs to protect people? Even if a few people die in the process, it's all for the people! As an alchemist it's my duty to make sure the public is safe. And they way things were being run with Oliver in charge, the people were not safe. I did not just fight my way to the top to get shot down!"
He looks at me in shock. "You're very determined to obtain this position aren't you?"
I straighten up. "Yes Sir, I am."
"Well, as her brother you know i'm next in line to take her place right?"
"If you choose to do so, yes."
"What makes you think i'd just hand it over to you?"
"I don't think that, i'm just hoping for the best at this point. I knew that by deciding to go this far, that it may result in failure. So i'm fully prepared for it."
He nods. "Right...well Miss Koy...I don't exactly want to be in this position. I've things to take care of."
I perk up. "Are you saying what I think you are?"
"Kind of. Even though I have things to take care of, I still want this position. But in the mean time...i'm going to leave you in charge. And when I come back, depending on the condition of things, i'll let you stay."
"Yelling. That doesn't sound good. How must are you willing to bet she didn't get it?"
"I wouldn't count her out so quickly. She has her ways of getting what she wants."
I grin and salute him. "You won't regret this Major Armstrong sir."
He nods. "But..if you try anything stupid Miss Koy, I will not hesitate to take you down. Am I understood?"
I nod. "Understood."
He smiles. "Now then, if you'll excuse me, I have to get you a uniform." He opens the door and walks out. I follow him.
"So?" Soul asks. "What happened?"
"I got it of course." I smile.
"It didn't sound so good from our end."
"It took a bit of convincing, and yeah I got a little upset, but it worked out." Armstrong comes back and tosses me a blue uniform.
"Don't mess this up Miss Koy."
"He seems nice." Ronny says standing up.
I nod. "He really is." I look down at the uniform and smile. 'I made it.'
